A friend of mine just finished his website on his twin turbo big block GTX.For you guys with an intrest in doing turbo set up its pretty neat.web site is www.butt-turbo.com By the way I'm the guy that did all of the welding on the mile of tubing with about 90 diffrent joints to weld up.

Old men who can,t handle high compression and big roller cams.wha wha I don't want to adjust the valves you now the kind

waste of $ if you ask me...for people who have more money than brains..cough cough

Actually it wasn't all that expensive.Especially if you look at the driveability,it literally is a turn key cruiser that will run on any 93 octaine and idle at 700 rm all day with no cooling issues. With some more tuning he should be in the nines shortly

I went to your buddies web site..................That is one sweet GTX, I can see you guys put a lot of thought in to it, I have no doubt he will be in the 9s
Great job!!!

I have a super charged Belvedere II so maybe I'm partial, I wish I was in your area. BTW great plumbing job.

Interesting. My RAM is a lowly 4.7 and I've thought about a rear turbo setup for it. Problem is nobody but nobody does anything for a 4.7

That's wild. Mid 10's on pump gas I'll say that works.

Haven't read the entire thread, but I agree totally. I've built a big block that will run on pump gas and deliver 950 hp. The total cost of the build was only $7,000. Much less than a big block with similar horsepower and no streetability. I built an 800 horse small block a few years ago and it was an eye opener. Almost twice the horsepower and price (if you are resourceful and do it yourself) is not to different. The parts are cheaper for the motor as a whole because you don't need high doller race parts (heads etc.). Kind of offsets the price a little. The only real difference in my motors is they are centrifical blowers instead of the turbos. Same concept different driving force. The turbo is more efficient, but I'm lazy and don't want to deal with the exhaust.

The short block is something he had laying around and decided to use it for good use finally. The fuel system and the turbos was the biggest cost

If or when you take a look at the web site he does have a forum.Their is a couple of us smart asses on their all in good fun.

Yup. I'm gonna get picky. Just like I'm hesitant to spend $300 for a cold air intake for that 4.7

OUCH!!! and what do you get, 10-15hp if that???

turbos have that bad stigma being associated with soulless Japanese appliances...but if used for OUR purposes, me thinks its a helluva way to get relatively cheap, reliable hp.

HP is HP as far as im concerned.

I agree I am pretty used to turbos being put on Japanese leaf blower engines! But I thought the same about nitrous and now every old Mopar guy I know is throwing a bottle on there rides, so I guess anything goes nowadays. 4 me its either all engine or a big *** roots blower!
