So Cal
4 speed with 8 3/4 rear. I have tried Spicer, Moog and Precision ujoints. They are all physically a bit bigger than the one i pulled and I can't get them in the driveshaft. Anyone else run into this problem?

Not lately. There should only be two sizes. What it needs will depend on the third member yoke size.

7260 = 2 1/8 between ears
7290 = 2 5/8 between ears
If memory serves
Only two factory sizes that year for rear end.

Probably a 1330 u-joint 1.0625 cup. 3.625" 66/67 Bb and Hemi's.

The SKF U joint cross was small enough to work. Nothing else would. Fixed after two days. So frustrated with this car...

I thought only 440 and Hemi cars had the larger U Joint and then
only 66 and 67 as I remember. Then maybe only 4 speeds.
My Dad's 67 GTX Auto did not have the larger U joint and i was
with him when he bought it new.

My 67 4 spd. Hemi GTX did have the bigger U joint and I bought it
in 67.

The two different size u joints seem to have been used almost randomly in lower performance models. I have seen big joints in 318 cars.
