Ok, so the UCAs were rusted out on my car. I bought a used set off fleabay, disassembled, blasted, painted (closer to natural) pressed in eccentric bushings (based on other posts) and thought all was good.

I went to install the ball joint - bought plenty as part of the crazy low prices on Amazon earlier this year. The the threads on the UCA are bigger and the ball joint slides right through.

I checked the ball joints that came with the flea bay UCA and they still fit

I pulled out my original rusted UCAs and the new ball joints fit correctly & the fleabay ones are too big

Measured the ball joint diameter across the threads.
Fleabay 1.875
New Moog: 1.835

So what UCAs did I buy? They said 68-72 BBody, but not quite right. I looked for part numbers on UCAs & ball joints but not finding any.

Lesson learned, I should have checked before blasting & painting. i almost put them on the shelf to install the ball joints when actually putting the car together - glad I didn't wait.

I briefly considered using the UCAs with the fleabay ball joints that came with it as they're not in bad shape the issue would be replacing them in the future as I don't know what they are. I'll post a WTB and start over

If anyone has ideas on what these UCAs are based on the slightly larger ball joint diameter, let me know. I'll post them up in the marketplace if I can identify them.

Thanks
Ross

I read that there are 2 different size ball joints used but I’m not sure if they are talking about the socket size or the thread diameter (or both). I’ll get you back to the top anyway.

Thanks - will check socket size and measure the female side in the UCA for additional info. Everything else looks identical.

The socket is the same for both. As I was looking around, I saw Classic Industries sells an OER one that requires their special ball joint (K772C); however, they say it's 1.238 at the threads, which is significantly smaller (.6 inch). I'm not sure how that's right or big enough, but that's not my issue. Still searching and posted a WTB hoping someone switched to tubular and kept their good ones :)
