Does anyone know if there is an upgraded slapstik T handle shifter? By upgrade I mean one made of better materials than the plastic (which is separating and needs to be replaced on my GTX) stock units? I know I can get a Pistol grip to replace it, but I always liked the look of the T handle shifter. Thanks in advance!

In 71 I replaced the one in my Challenger about 4 times, a lot cheaper then but just as aggravating

My question is does anyone make one in metal, as an example of a better material. You could cover the T in leather and have chrome trim and button. I have a Hurst T handle on my Shelby, it can get hot, wish it was leather covered.

I saw a post on another website where a guy had machined a T handle for himself out of a block of aluminum, but he only made one for himself... If someone did it on a CNC & ran off a hundred I'll bet they would sell pretty quickly...

I also wonder if 3D printing in some material would be a good option...

Yeah I wondering something similar. I was thinking formed sheet metal, powder coated with a leather covering over the T. I am sure it could be done, I have seen some amazing fab work, but definitely not a skill I have.

IIRC, the new replacements have the reinforced handle and should hold up better. If you compare an original 1971 T-handle to a new one, you can see the difference. This being said, Mopar went back to the 1970 style metal type handle shifter in 1974 due to the cracking issues.
