Varmits

Well I guess we give the moths balls a shot.I think the coyotes would take care of the cats but then again i thought the snakes would have taken care of the mice.Too many eagles I guess probably taking care of the snakes.Hard to keep it straight.

I had moth balls all over in my 49 Ford in little Styrofoam cups and the dirty little bast---- ate the cups from around the mothballs. Not sure of an answer and maybe they will do the trick for you, good luck.

I've known people swear by those electronic devices.

Had a friend of mine who wouldn't put a new battery in his smoke detector in his basement. He claimed that he hasn't seen anymore mice since the chirping started. ???

:elmer:Go to the farm store and get a bucket of loose small green pellets and throw them around outside the buildings etc. twice a year. Makes a huge improvement for me.

OK I know we have been through this before but there has to be a sure thing remedy for frickin mice. I must have put over 30 sheets of dryer softener fabric in the interior and glove box and the trunk. It doesn't work. Can you believe one of them bastards even took a **** on the fabric sheets. The car will mostly sit outside do to over crowding in the garage so I am looking at anyone out there who may have a solution.
I see several posters recommending moth balls - what ever you do don't use those. My brother ruined he interior of a vintage car that he Got from my dad. Couldn't get the smell out of the interior and ended up having to get rid of the car because it wasn't worth the money to replace it. I dot recommend that approach.

A shop just installed an ultrasonic repeller in one of my cars to deal with a recurring rodent problem. Don't know if it works.

post 19 photoshopped, look at the hand.

ultrasonics don't work for me.

have snakes and cats, still have mice.

thankfully they don't f with the cars, just smell bad.

I myself put out a square poison that they cant drag away. It makes them need water. It also makes them not stink when they die.

I dug 4 of the little bastards out my rockers recently!

I've tried moth balls & sticky pads, high frequency plug-in gizmos- none worked for me. Two dogs and a cat in the house are useless. Only old fashioned snap traps do the job most of the time.

I heard about a way cottagers deal with them over the winter that is said to work well. Keeping mice out is nearly impossible and poison means they die somewhere you can't get to them so they stink up the place. What some do is place a bucket of antifreeze on the floor. Sting across the bucket with a roller of some kind in the center, perhaps a toilet paper roll. Smear some peanut butter on the roll. The mice crawl up and over to the peanutbutter but once on the roll, they fall off into the antifreeze and drown. They stay preserved until spring and dumped accordingly. I haven't tried it but sounded like it would work.

I had some turds in a dryer sheet in my car when I got it out last week. I'm with you, need to change strategy.
What's worse than the rodents are the damn birds in this one particular building.
If my car and boat weren't under 4 layers of tarps and covers they would be white from birdshit.

I think a combination of glue traps and moth balls (renewed bi-weekly) will work for the rodents. I read not to put rodenticide too close to anything like vehicles because it attracts them. Put it about 20ft away if possible. The mothballs will repel the mouse over to the bait.
As far as the birds in my building, rice didn't work. I will seal the building completely except for the small gap under the sliding door and talk to somebody in the pest control industry. Because they wise up to the fake owl quickly

I've got mothballs, sheets, traps and a new ultrasonic in the Road Runner. Neighbors are supplying the cats.
Ever once in a while I've caught a mouse in one of the traps.
Not this year though.
Warm weather maybe.

I'm pretty sure that cat would be useless for catching mice.

How about a 12 gauge for the birds? Just saying

A friend uses Irsh Spring soap. Swears it works m. Much better smell than moth balls

I've posted my full proof solution before but most don't want to go to that extreme. Knowing this would be a problem while building my car I looked for openings that they could enter, I'm pretty confident that unless your car has missing plugs, seals or rust holes they come in threw the cowl drains under the fenders. I just formed some expanded metal to neatly cover the holes and riveted them on. Next time your fenders are off try it.

I see no point in trying to kill everything that gets inside when you can seal them out. 3 years since completion and no mice yet.

Pure peppermint oil (you can buy it online) soak cotton balls in it and place them in a open cup, works. Mice can't stand the smell.

Now that's one I haven't heard of. Got to give it a try. Thanks for chiming in!

Build a trap, I put a 5 gallon bucket with antifreeze in the bottom, and a dowel through it, then a can on the dowel, cover the can with PB, and build a ramp to the can (about an inch away so they have to jump on it.
You will come out to a pile of dead mice in the bottom of the bucket.

it works, If you want proof Ill take a picture of the 2 I have in my shed, they have about 15 mice in them
