Vent window channel

Good afternoon everyone. Would anyone know if where I could just get the plastic guide shoes for the window channel? I have the kit but the plastic bag was ripped and I lost a piece. Hate to have to purchase another.

They're not correct size anyhow. Do you have the original ones??

Unfortunately I'm still not shipping South due to the border nightmare, as #1 Son and I mold / print exact duplicates of the OE slider shoes.

I also hope that those mylars you have are formed curved and not straight...

Unfortunately I don’t have the original stuff. Looked closer at this kit and it’s “supposed” to fit both straight and curved. I tried to install one and the Mylar tore. Any suggestions? Thanks

I installed mine long and from bottom with silicone spray, then I cut them. PITA it helps to have another set of hands. And yes I did ruin one. Lots of spray. @dadsbee has blessed me so if you can wait a couple days give me your address in a PM and I will send you a couple.

Dadsbee has a very well detailed procedure in his build thread. But unless he points you to the exact area you'll just have scan through till you find it. Well worth the effort though.

I fought with one of mine for well over an hour then called it quits. Read his posts and had both done in less than half an hour the next day!!

FWIW, my mylars are NOT curved. But they went in and the windows work fine. Just lucky I guess.

Justin (moparnation74) suggested that I should share my restoration thread here on FBBO. There is just no way that I can find the time to recreate/type/post the past 2 years of work so far, so my only real option to get it started off is to share my thread via link over on DC.com and then update the progress "live" here as the restoration goes on.

The back story on this car of mine is my father bought it as our family car and I bought it from him when I was 18 for $3600 @ 10% over 3 years. That was way back in 1980, probably before many of you were even born ! I put 45,000 miles on it...
