What causes vinyl to develop these brown spots? I’ve tried everything to try and remove them but they just keep getting worse. The car stays parked in my garage. Is it some kind of mold or sun damage?

I think it's from the sun. Mine was the same way. Used Eckler's vinyl paint. Still looks good.

The magnifying glass took too long , I put them in my mothers frying pan
I’d call you depraved Dave, but I used to take a bic lighter and give them a quick flame, which is even worse!
I’ve mellowed though in my old age, now if I see them on my kitchen floor I swat them with the heel of an old shoe.

So it sounds like I need to recover it. Finding a light blue vinyl material isn’t easy. I’ve come across medium and dark blues. Wonder if I can recover it in fabric instead…

My vinyl on the tops of my back seat started to turn orange. I believe it was from sun damage. I got some herbs vinyl paint and it worked pretty good.
