Hi friends, best girlfriend in the world hooked up my Charger with a new vinyl top for Christmas.

Before talking to Legendary, would like to hear from you. What tips/tricks did you use to install your vinyl top? Things to avoid? What glues did you use? Heat? Thanks in advance.

Hey bud I covered that a little in the thread Rocky's Road Runner on page 5. Important to use the right glue-
Weldwood landau top adhesive. If you have 2 people it will be a snap.

What tips/tricks did you use to install your vinyl top?
Get a seasoned Pro Upholstery guy to install it for you.

You fung it up and you'll regret trying to DIY the job.

Another tip is to lay the vinyl out flat where it can get natural warmth to help with getting the wrinkles or creases out prior to installation ....may need several weeks for this.

Just finished one myself. The Weldwood adhesive is the way to go. You’ll need at least two people. We marked the centerline of the roof, and the centerline of the top, outside and underneath. We sprayed half the roof and half the top and did one side first, then the other half. Hindsight being 20/20, I would spray the the entire roof and the top, letting both fully dry, then install the top. There’s videos on YouTube showing both techniques.

I did mine a few years ago, I agree with hemirunner on methodology. Carefully plan it out before you start adhesive. Two people is needed. I used my wife’s small cosmetic roller and wall paper brushes helped me work out wrinkles and bubbles. I masked off most of the car to avoid adhesive overspray.
So once you are sure of the layout, getting it on is pretty easy but trimming it in is the trickiest part. Biggest advice I give, trim small amounts off the excess. If you trim too much you never will get that vinyl back. I came close to messing mine up on one of the last trim cuts.
