So what does a fella do when he turns 60? Well if he has good friends like I do , he just lays hooky Friday m work and heads to the Volo Auto Museum .
This was my first time , I was floored by the amount of cars on display and the ones being shown in the museum .
I certainly was tempted more than once . Lots of vintage campers and motorized two wheelers.
They also had a military display well worth the price of admission.

Great place. I did quite a bit of work on Gregs original house 30 some years ago, on the lot. He and his wife were great to work with and very down to earth. I’d stop by and say hi once in awhile. I know their sons took it over for the most part. Unfortunately one passed from Covid. Next time I go back, I’ll have to stop by and say hi.

I visit Volo Auto Sales online occasionally to check their inventory. Mostly out of my price range though. I never paid attention to the museum ads though. That looks awesome! I'm flying into Chicago in late August and will try to work this into the trip. Thanks for the post @Dakar Timm .

Well worth the visit. I got there on a regular basis when I lived in the Chicago area. Mostly priced out of my range back then too. Flattering to see one of my former cars make the grade.

This is a big business with overpriced cars and out of reach for the average guy. A recent member sold his car here to an individual that flipped it quickly and got nearly 30% increase over asking price. Volo now has the car (2nd flip) for just under $88K. That's about a 83% jump over original asking. I feel sorry for that guy who overpays.
