So I have a mostly number matching 1971 Roadrunner and it is currently painted V2 the original color of the car is GY8. So just wondering every ones take on what they would do. The engine compartment is still gold and not sure I like it. HELP!!!

Numbers matching car, I would go with original color if I intended to sell in near future. If it's a keeper, color you like the best. Me, I'd do it Mercedes silver.

Depends on what you intend to do with the car. If you are keeping it, simply do what you want. If it's highly optioned with a lot of documentation and you want to sell it then the original color will get you a little bit more but I wouldn't expect a lot. Bottom line is it's your car, paint it what you want

I'm partial to Curious Yellow. It will look good with a black stripe.

Mid 90's paint job and not very good. Looks good from 25 feet. LOL

As others said,... If it is not a numbers matching car, in my opinion,.... paint it whatever color you like. I understand where you are coming from though. It's easy to second guess yourself and it's nice to get the opinions of others. For years, I wanted my Charger to be yellow with a black top. As the years went on, I started to see yellow cars everywhere (i.e.... My Barracuda is Lemon Twist) so I changed my mind and decided to go with 1968 LL1 Dark Turquoise on my Charger.

The final decision is obviously yours, but if you are asking me,.... the Winchester Gray (Dodge Gunmetal Grey) is really growing on me for the early 70's Roadrunners and Chargers. Don't know why, but I'm just really starting to like that color on the rounder bodies of the 71-74 B-Bodies.

The only thing that does not match is the engine. The car has a 69 383 hp in it now and I do have a date code correct g383 hp motor for it. But I do like your choice in the grey.

Well as I always tell people build it as you want it witch means color! If you had a 1/4 built something sure org all the way ! But you don't . Have fun with it make it as you would of ordered it new !

Are you going to do it or is going into the netherworld. AKA paint jail be running in 2 years.

I'm with the others that say to paint it what you like if you plan to keep it....but whatever you do, get rid of the extra engine call outs on the fenders if you plan on keeping what's on the hood.

That original gold looks a lot better when it is fresh and has a clear over it.

Your car. Your choice. No opinion here.
