Hey i know this sounds dumb,but could someone be kind enough to explain this Gmail stuff to me and how its not that good. Does this have something to do with sending money? Thanks

Steve, Gmail is short for Google Mail, and it's another web-hosted email service that anyone can sign up for and doesn't require you to identify yourself. The crooks like it because Google doesn't like providing any information to law enforcement and will fight against releasing the goods on them. Yahoo and other providers have provided information.

The crooks can set up an account, scam people, and disappear without a trace.

It's terrible this stuff happens. I had no idea Gmail has such a bad rep. I'm pretty new to the whole interlink buying/selling scene & didn't realize choosing Gmail for contacts is a red flag for folks. Maybe I need to change that.

Been using Gmail for years. At one time Hotmail had a bad rap too along with yahoo. Guess what? I have all 3 lol. Yahoo started giving me problems so got a hotmail account then went to gmail for it's ease of use. They all have their plus and minuses....

If you think Google doesn't pass along info, then you are very wrong. They are probably the ones that spy on us the most!! They track everything and are better at it than all the others and our glorious 'Big Brother' is on it. Google may deny it but don't believe it.

Sorry that happened and thanks for the heads up. I have a few stories about scammers from several boards and even some locals. There are some sites to check on user names and email addresses on the net and it's not hard to find them. The one I go to first to check up on people (along with IP addresses) is stopforumspam.com It's mainly a site on who are spammers but a lot of spammers are also scammers....

I've had a Gmail address for years, I use it occasionally, never had any problems. One thing it doesn't get is a ton of spam like my Yahoo email.
