I see them all over LA metro area. I was stopped at a light and counted 5-6 of them within my range of vision. Two of them where right behind each other as they drove by the other direction in the first pic.
They go down my mom’s narrow street that has cars parked on both side. You have to slow down for two cars to pass. So much so that parked cars have their mirrors flipped in.
I get very nervous when I see Waymo’s without driver go by on that street…. But they do it daily.
Was in my friends new Tesla the other day. Sweet car .... stupid fast acceleration. He talked me into trying the self driving feature. Pretty impressive but still a no go for me. Within 2 minutes it tried an illegal left turn into a local train station (tried to go in the out door) cutting off a pickup coming the opposite direction. Good thing it was a controlled intersection or who knows?!
No thanks!
I guess we're supposed to believe that a software engineer can foresee and predict every possible thing the car might encounter during it's lifetime and take appropriate action in every case. Airplanes have had autopilot systems for more than thirty years. They still make mistakes based on sensor errors and unpredicted circumstances.
No, I'm serious! I've never heard of such a thing.
Sounded like a grocery store. Bring way mo money.
im guessing its some self driving piece of ****. ABSOLUTELY should be banned completely!!!
As a former plaintiff's lawyer, I've been watching this stuff with curiosity, wondering when it will finally hit the wall, figuratively, as well as literally.
