Weather stripping

Yes
Apply a very thin layer to strip and then to door suirface spread with a glove or acid brush. It mmust be paper thin on both sides. Let sit 2-3 minutes then press together and hold with clothes line clips for 2 hours. Also the clips in the seal should have some applied to hole. USe 3M weather stripping adhesive!

Steve,
I would not suggest using any adhesive on any of the door seals. If all of the clips are in place for the 68 to 70 B-Body application, they will hold everything in place and still allow the seal to move around as the door is opened and closed. When they are glued in place, the contact area becomes rigid and is prone to tearing the seal if they are very tight fitting which most of the reproductions are. If your reusing original seals and the clip hole is torn out, then you may be forced to glue that area into place. Just put a small amount in that area and you will be fine.

I see advantages to both theories/opinions and would like to know who has done what in the past, and if anyone experienced any tearing/falling off/seal leaks in real life situations using whatever method they decided to try.

I used metro supersoft on my car recently and used the black weather stripping adhesive where recommended. So far so good although it has only been a few months.
Edit: I didn't use any adhesive on the upper seal for the glass channel. Proper name eludes me at this time. Only on the seal on the door. You can see it in the projects and restoration's section around page 5, project R/T.

Either is ok. You don't "have" to, but you can if you want. I don't myself.

We sell the Metro product and one reason that it is suggested that it should be glued in place is that it may not fit your application 100% the way the factory piece did. You will not find any glue on a factory installed piece.
