Weird Cover on 70 GTX taillight panel

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone had seen this on any other car? It's definitely not oem, but someone put a plate over a hole that was drilled thats about 3/4", maybe it used to have a battery shut off? Any ideas? Thanks as always.

Looks like someone had a trailer plug there.....any evidence of a trailer hitch?

That would make sense, I'll have to look underneath to see if I can tell if it had a hitch.

Over the years I've seen some crazy stuff done to these cars.....and I was one of them lol

Yeah I bet, I couldn't imagine doing that stuff to these cars but I guess back then they were just cars lol

Yup, they were just cars but they were cool cars! Always wanted mine to be clean and sharp but I drove the snot out of it and it even had a home made trailer hitch on it. I used it as a truck too working construction with a trunk full of tools but on the weekend, all that stuff came out except for a full box of nails on the right side of the trunk
