Because of rain forecasted, There will be NO TIME TRIALS and
right into first round in the morning. Random Pairings and no ladder.
No Heads Up races either.

Hope my Chrystal Ball is working right.

We will race entire race in ONE DAY rather than four.

What? That’s crazy. How do they pick who gets to race? Everybody there qualifies? Which driver are you?

No time runs sucks, but everyone is on a level playing field. Not sure about elsewhere, but the D6 ET finals have been run this way for years. Off the trailer and into round 1.

Very odd for a national event. Also highly unusual they are offering credits for another race if you want, that's just not something they like to do.

You and Jon should have enough data from that track and your cars to have a good day at the races. Will be busy though with multiple cars, especially 3rd round and beyond. Wish I was there to help out!

Have fun and good luck!

We run lots of stuff with no time trial. But usually have been there the day before. That being said with good weather prediction most can get get pretty close. Are the Pro classes doing the same thing?

I have done it many times before.
Keep records of previous runs and base your dial in on previous same weather conditions.

When I was running a dragster and bracket racing I would hold a few and tap the brakes if needed.

My name is John Irving and I am running a 71 Demon 340 in SS/JA
and a 78 Aspen Wagon in L/SA.

My son is Jon Irving and he is running a 71 Demon 340 in D/SA and a
71 Duster 340 in SS/KA.

I think the 1965 Winternationals was one day because of weather delays

John and Jon, get you mindset right and this format could be a benefit to you guys.
You guys know the track and your cars, I like your chances if the mindset is right.
Don't be mad at the weather, think of it as an opportunity.

I remember bracket racing nights and the day road course program ran over so time trials were compromised, all these guys getting mad. Now guess how many of them lost first round? Most of the mad guys! Attitude is everything.
