Well I finally bought my 8 3/4, any thoughts?

Ok guys, well i did it, for my '74 satellite i was able to get the complete 8 3/4 open rear end with 489 casting with 3.23's for $275. It may still be a little high but everything measured right and from what i could tell looked good so it should bolt right in and the guy was outta work so i felt bad for him. Now my next step will be a sure grip and gears. I know this may be a dumb post but im excited so im just wondering if anybody has any recomendations or warnings on where to get the new parts from or what to look out for. From my understanding its better to get the clutch style sure grip over the cone style, any other thoughts?

I think you got a great deal. Get the clutch type.

$275 for a complete diff is a good deal.clutch type is better in my opinion as well.
