before i get to the good part, i have sad news. lost my wife 4 months ago from cancer. she fought a long hard battle and i truly miss her. we have no children and were married for 22 years, so i now live alone.
so now the good part, i texted my brother, and told him i was going to drive my Roadrunner out to his place in Golden Valley AZ. and stay with him for a week (he is also a widower). We looked at houses in Kingman where i will probably move to, and looking for a 1700 sq. ft. house with 3 car garage and possible rv garage where i can put a lift in. this won't happen for some time, but just getting feelers out there. The car ran great the whole trip save for my brake lights being stuck on the whole way home, just need to crawl under the dash and adjust. here's a pic of my wife, mom and me from left to right.

So sorry to hear about your wife,
you have my deepest & heartfelt condolences
may she RIP
It gets a tad bit easier over time,
I'm a long time widower {almost 20 years} too
but raised kids, 3 girls & a boy {also my niece & nephew} all on my lonesome
I was way too busy to feel too sorry for myself, life is strange that way...

69roadr it sounds like you had a nice trip, visiting your bros. in Az.
except the brake-light issue

Kingman Az. huh, 28,000 pop. 3,300 elevation,
average age is 42, 46% married, 7.4% unemployed...
according to http://www.bestplaces.net/city/arizona/kingman
What are the house/property prices like there ?
I see $125k is average price
How much land was it too ?
Any water issues ?

oh, that's right, you are a widower too. thanks for the condolences. yeah, it's pretty lonely here at the house, but i have a large family here in socal. i figure i can get 850k for my current house and get a beautiful yet smaller house with what i'm looking for for around 200k on an acre and be near my brother about 15 minutes away. no water issues that i know of.

I almost bought a Golf course in that area some 10 or so years ago
that's why I asked about water issues, it was close in Lake Havasu Az. area thou,
I backed out of the deal on a house too, both because of water related issues...

sounds like a great deal, cash out & have a nice place still

good luck

Condolences to you and yours.

Any pics from the trip? Been to Kingman a few times to meet the crew driving in to MATS in Spring. Route 66! Andy Devine Blvd...

Sorry to hear that your wife has passed. You also have my prayers and condolences. You are smart to keep yourself active and busy. My brother lived in Prescott Az. for many years and he loved it up there. Not quite so hot in the summer. I hope you can find a place that's right for you wherever it is. I wish you the best.

sorry for your lose hang in there I have never been to Az. best wishes to you and yours

Thanks Dennis. yes i took lots of pictures and even a good long burnout video on a secluded road. they're on my phone that i've had for just a month, so got to figure how to upload. drove on 66 and also went to Oatman and did some quading with my brother to some old abandoned gold mines.

I also am very sorry to here of your loss. I can only imagine the difficulty of adjusting to life alone after 22 years with a loving wife. May she RIP. It was a great idea to take the road trip in your RR to AZ. Are you and your brother close? It would be nice if you could move there and have him close and start a new chapter in life. God bless and good luck in your endeavors.

Thanks Kevin, yes my brother and i are really close. he's just a year older than me. if i move to kingman, we will be 15 minutes away from each other. btw, my brother's name is Kevin

Sorry to hear about your loss, I can't imagine what that feels like. AZ is one of the places on the notepad for looking to retire to. Been through a few times RV camping -beautiful. I do know how you feel about family tho, brother in Benicia California, sister in Great Falls Mt.,father in FL. Seems I'm always running to see someone.
Good luck and stay away from the gold diggers lol.

This is on 66 in Oatman. A donkey was kind enough to clean the bugs off of the nose of the Coronet!

I'm sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you. I know that I'd be lost without my wife.
