Went To My Kidney Doctor Today……WAS Not Good News, but now it's GREAT News

Hi Everyone,

So if you remember my post #114 on page 6, I said I was going to go for a follow up appointment with my surgeon on Thursday (meaning today) for my transplant. Well I went to the follow up appointment today at 10AM, and all went well. My surgeon said he is happy with my recent bloodwork from this past Monday, my performance so far with what I am doing with exercising and my urine output, and with my scar. They actually reduced one of my suppression steroid medications today too so thats good progress. Interestingly though I weighed in at 163 pounds, but at home when I weighed myself a couple of times the scale kept saying 167 to 168. My surgeon says the scales might differ. Anyways, I go back for bloodwork before I go back again next Thursday to see him again for another follow up at 10AM. While I was there at the visit today they had this sign which I took a picture in front of….

Awesome news Eric, so glad that this is behind you.

Looking forward to seeing you at the MIM show in a few weeks so we can catch up.

Great news! Glad you’re feeling better! Getting to see any of the hockey playoffs?

Hi Everyone,

Happy Mothers Day to all the real female members on here. I hope you all had a great day. Anyways, I am sorry for not keeping you all updated more often. I honestly have been doing the same thing on my tractor forums, my apologies. Yesterday was officially 1 month since I had my surgery already, I can’t believe it. Time goes by so fast. So far I been doing well and have been stable for the most part. My weight has been 162, a couple of my medication doses have been reduced a couple times, and my bloodwork has been ok although it went up once 2 weeks ago where the doctors were a little concerned. They thought it was dehydration, and apparently it was because last week when I went for bloodwork my numbers came down. I go for bloodwork again later this morning at 9:45AM. I also went for a kidney ultrasound ago and everything is good with no issues. I no longer see my surgeon anymore either, I go see one of the doctors that is part of the transplant team now instead. I went to see her for the first time last week, and I go see her again in 2 weeks on the 22nd of May. This past Friday I went to get my ureteral stent taken out, and the procedure took about 5 minutes and went well. This comin week I should probably be going to get my dialysis “permcath” catheter taken out. Anyways this is all for now, more updates to hopefully come soon.
