Dad was shopping for a new car and was discussing it with my mom. Trying to decide between a Belvedere and a Sport Fury. To my ear he was saying Velvet Ear, I always wondered who would want a car called a Velvet Ear and who came up with the name. BTW we got the Sport Fury! Imagine my relief.

When I took my dad for a ride in my 66 427 trip power corvette he described it as "a real going jessie". He also described things which did not quite line up as being " one red c***t hair out".
Always got a kick out of that once I understood what he meant.
