I've got a 489 case complete 3.91 w/ suregrip that appears to be in great shape. I bought it and realized that a 512 stroker on the street is just fine with 3.55's

400 block, if I remember right its a 285 block. not the famed "winter block" but certainly a desirable one and looked good when disassembled.

440 HP block, IIRC 68 casting, HP stamp, standard bore. pics to follow...

I figured this would be a good spot to ask values, I dont want to take anyones first born child for these parts but I'm not really sure what to ask either.

Thanks in advance!

If it helps
I just had a 489 differential rebuilt with new 3.90 gears, new bearings, and seals. We used my old Sure-Grip but they supplied the 489 case
$1200 but I get a 12 month 12000 mile Warranty

I would love to have the 3.91's but they go for big money.

Well at least to me they are expensive

Shipping is outragous. I just sold and shipped a air cleaner from Nevada to New York.
The cheapest I could find was $86 :BangHead: Unbelieveable !!
I agree the 489 complete is in the $800 to $1200 range for sure.
My guess on the blocks standard bore will be in the $400 $600 range.Each.Maybe more.

Pigs are tricky to sell because of shipping cost. You can wrap a lot of money into rebuilding one as you have, you're pretty close to half a brand new Dana. I'd be surprised if you get 2/3 your money back, might be better to save it for another project or even put the 3.55's in that one

I really don't know what its worth but it cant be cheap to ship to southern LA...

Yea it would probably $150 or more to ship it almost anywhere.

That set up can go for between $600 to $850 depending on how bad some one wants it.

HP block is worth $600 to $800

I just purchased a fresh pig with sure grip, new bearings, after market but US made Motive 3.73 gears and wide yoke for 600...semi local....125 mile drive... thats northern AZ for ya..lol
