You are better off calling a rep and talking to them personally...That way if a screw up happens it,s on them...I bought a set of hooker ceramics from them...The instructions did not say if you use edelbrock heads the #2 spark plug would be a bitch to put in...After I modified the header they said why didnt you go for the two inch so you would not have that problem...DUHH>>>>

    What size engine?

Small blocks can use tti's or Hooker SUPER comp. headers for best fit period! Regular one size fits all standard type of header you nornmally see still suck and fit ill, unless your lucky. Installation of the 1 size fits all is very hard.

The tti's and Hooker SUPER comp headers are easy , very easy by compare.

Been there, done that refuse to go back to cheap/inexpensive 1 size fits all headers.

Not much,450 hp...6500 rpm redline...I figured one day to build a low deck 400 stroker so all the new parts I bought for the 440 will also go on my stroker motor...Heads ,exhaust the works except for the intake and carb...The low deck fits under the hood better than the rb engine.....I,m always fighting clearence problems...

Do 1 of the 2 headers I suggested to use. For starters, they do not require any tubes to under the front end linkage and because of that, you will not scrape them, dent them, faltten out the tubes.

    Installation is alot easier. ALOT!

These will work really nice with a 360 with power of note.

I've been reading about tti headers for years. Expensive. Haven't looked up the Hookers yet. Do you have a part#?

Of what sytle and brand. The 1 size fits all laffable joke of a header? The ones that get scraped and dented and flattened out at the first speed bump or pot hole or heavy bounce the car takes?

    Please!

I have TTI headers on my Demon 340 with a 3" x-pipe and they are a work of art. I am planning on buying a set for my Coronet. They fit perfectly without ant problems with the installation.

I agree, put some of those on my Duster 340. Had to flatten out to get it to
fit around the steering and hit a speed bump. Removed them and got better.

I guess the headers will be in the future then. Probably cut the cat out and put a dynaflow muffler on it for now.

This is a good thread, I wish more people would weigh in on it. I'm using stock manifolds with a custom 2 into 1, 3" exhaust right now. My exhaust guy told me to stay away from headers because my ride height is so low and they would most assuredly scrape. I've considered shorty or tight tuck headers, but with power steering theres no guarantee of fit. Hooker Super Comps and TTis are all but guaranteed to fit, but also quite spendy. Some also specify that the are for vehicles without power steering. Who has ever seen a late 70s ANYTHING that doesn't have power steering? Converting to manual steering is a huge, expensive (although not unappealing) proposition. You guys that have done this please give up the dope.

I'll try to take some pics, Citrus. The car just happens to be up on stands right now for some winter servicing so maybe they'll even turn out. I've recently been trying to gather-up information about running dual exhaust, which is what I really wanted in the first place. But, with the offset gas tank and low ride height, the whole thing seemed to be way too much hassle. My compromise was the fore-mentioned 3" single with a hi-flow Magnaflow cat and a Magnaflow muffler. In this pic you can see why I was worried about scraping. I've torn collectors off more than one set of headers in the past and drove around with it like that for awhile. I'm trying to be a grown-up now. Not sure yet how thats gonna work-out.
