I know a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay but this is going to be my first classic car so looking for a little advice.

The car is a 1969 Super Bee, numbers matching 383/4 speed, no rust, 1 respray, fender tag says B7 blue but it looks like the respray may have been B5? Owner says car is very mechanically sound, has a cam, exhaust, intake manifold, msd ignition, not certain what carb but I am guessing something aftermarket, owner believes motor is .030 over but looking for paperwork on engine rebuild. Interior needs to be redone and the paint is fading on the roof pretty bad.

Interested to hear opinions on fair price with the given info, thanks!

I would want to see underneath the car. A lot of unknowns.

I only have a couple photos of underneath at the moment but let's just assume all original sheet metal and no rust. Car spent its life in the southwest and has remained in a single family since it rolled off the lot.

The bottom has been repainted, what are they hiding?

it looks a bit rough around the edges.

To advise on fair price to offer would be night and day depending on accurate depiction of how solid the typical fail spots are on the body. Definitely need more and clearer pics of bottom side.

Agree that the bottom was spray bombed with undercoating. I would want to see the bottom of the car in person to make sure there is no major rust. 12K - 15K is probably where I would be at on it.

Wow that's a low estimate. For a numbers matching 4 spd car, one owner, no rust I would have thought 30k easily ASSUMING car is genuine and underside checks out.

That undercoating would raise alarm bells. Get it on a lift, and poke around under the vulnerable areas of the floor pan etc. If the guy is honest he won't object. If he does, walk.

That’s not a low estimate for what is there.

no headliner, no door panels, seat is thrashed, paint is dead amd wrong color, tail stripe painted on, JC Whitney racing mirrors. Been a hot rod project with the tach, gauges, msd, headers, valv covers, aluminum intake, etc.

Wild-assed guess, based on what little info is presented here and conferring with the Hagerty Valuation
Guide (which also reports previous sales results, of course) - my number is going to be about $15k.
I get there by working backwards from a presentable, complete example and subtracting for all of those missing
parts and needed refinishing.
That car will be more of a project than the OP suspects, methinks.

I'm going to say, assuming it's not rusted, (since it's a South west car), about 30k. It's workable. Do it yourself. Would be fun to drive.

Thanks the replies guys! And sorry about minimal info, the car is about 1000 miles away from me and my plan is to fly there and check it out and if everything checks out and we reach an agreement, drive it home (I'm sure that will not be a popular idea but I don't mind an adventure that will possibly turn into a headache). Seller is at 35k, I came in at 25k which he declined, I don't like negotiating over the phone/online when I am selling something so I figured I would just go see it and talk with him in person. The car having been in his family since new makes me feel pretty good and based on my conversations with him so far he seems like a standup guy. I probably should have called it out originally but I was looking for the value assuming there is no rust as I have been told and all sheet metal is original.

I do not have any truck pics but here is a shot of the driver floor and a small glimpse of the rear floor. Also a pic of fender tag, one of the B7's on the tag means B7 blue right? And can anyone confirm it is not B7 currently?

I dont mind that its a little hot rodded out, I would be looking to do that to whatever car I end up with anyways. The interior is probably my biggest issue, seems like it could be 3-5k to fix that and get it semi nice (I'm not looking for perfect, planning to drive the car quite a bit living in southern california) and then the paint will eventually need to be addressed, dont mind that is not the right blue but obviously it will affect resale down the road.

Thank you again, I have spent many hours so far reading the forums here and have learned a ton, excited for the day I finally get my hands on a car!

I think 35 is reasonable for this car. Good luck and keep us updated.

I guess you just don't get much for $35K these days. I'd be with hunt2elk, R413, and moparedtn on price. I see a lot of F'ed up stuff on that car from the few photos there are, which also makes me wonder what is NOT being shown.

I just gave 20K for a 69 coronet RT and it came with a complete new in the box legendary interior. I think this car is in that same range.

Guess I've been around the block enough times to know that I would never pay 30K for a 383 Super Bee in that condition. 20K would be the absolute max if I just had to own it. All 3 of my cars are from the south, and all 3 had some kind of rust issues. Not much, but some. Anytime I see black spray bombed paint on the floorboards and on the bottom of a car, I would about guarantee someone covered up some form of rust. If I owned that car, it would go on the rotisserie and get totally redone. Not necessary by any means, but that's the world I live in. By the time body, paint, interior, and the mechanical stuff is done I would have another 50K in it. Super Bees are not bringing Charger money, not yet anyway. This is all just my opinion of course.
I hope the OP can get the car for a decent price and there are no major rust issues. That car would look stunning finished and painted the correct B7 blue.

Your new car is in much better condition than this blue one Roger. The paint difference alone is huge. Plus yours is a R/T....
