What other hobbies do you have

Hobbies include classic audio equipment, camping, geology, boats, and sailing. I spent almost 9 years restoring an old plywood runabout with my dad. He’s not a car guy but he appreciates my enthusiasm. I like exploring the Columbia river’s network of sloughs and backwaters. Overnighting on the boat is a lot of fun.

I've been A body mopar since I got my driver's license in 06 but I recently acquired a GTX which I reluctant to take on because I don't know B bodies as good as I know A bodies. My favorite car ever is the duster and I have a few, followed closely by valiants ( boxy ones 67 to 73).

As I started looking up B body parts, it hit me that all my hobbies are expensive.

I am not normal because other than cars, I do model railroading, and I'm a fish keeper.

The model railroad spun off into slot cars, and model car kits.

Of course none of that is cheap.

Why can't I be normal !!

What other hobbies are you into?
I dabble in silversmithing and
lapidary. I've accumulated enough
equipment to start a shop. Kilns and casting machine, grinding /buffing
stations. Still learning mostly thru
trial and error.
But now that I'm retired, free cash has
dried up some, and the price of
precious metals is almost out of my
reach.
I made these using some scrap silver,
and some random stones.

Play with guns every so often when the urge strikes
Got back into model cars , pretty heavily since I retired I must say ( MOSTLY vintage drag cars )
Doing some mechanical / Restoration work on old cars if I get the chance ( currently working with Jim Kueneman on a 1972 F100 for a local guy. ( turned into a full blown ground up )

And play with the wifes boobs , when I get the chance

I like to do a lot of stuff, sometimes there is just not enough time to do it all. Been a car guy all my life so that takes up a lot of time. Then I like sailboats, people always tell me that it is weird, and I tell them I go drag racing for fun, I go sailing to relax. Out on a big body of water in a gentle breeze is just about the most relaxing thing you can do. And sleeoing in the boat with the gentle rocking is about the best sleep you can get as well. Then there is the problem of where I live in the middle of Missouri. We have several big lakes, but I have a 25 foot O'day trailer sailer, so I can tow to the big water. Have been to the great lakes, Chesapeake Bay, Atlantic off the coast of Floridia. One time I got to go on a catamaran to the Bahamas.
Then I was a boy scout, so I love the outdoors. For many years my son and I take a wilderness camping and fishing trip to the boundary waters canoe area in Minnesota. And I have a slide in truck camper I use when drag racing and it gets double duty as every year I like to take a trip to a national park. I guess my favorite national park is Yellowstone, and then the boundary water canoe area, if you like the outdoors then both parks are a must see and experience.

We also have a 25 Oday . We keep it on a mooring on Lake Michigan .
Great boats.

I do some hand loading and target plinking. Seems I don’t get out to do enough shooting but I keep loaded up. Some day I need to retire my old RCBS and at least get a RCBS Rock Chucker. I lack enough room for a dedicated loading station so my table has to do double duty for auto work and reloading.

I am into shooting as well. I’ll probably get back into it more as I try to pull myself out of drag racing.

I am starting to realize I may enjoy reloading as much as shooting. It takes a lot of concentration, and also physical activity (especially with a progressive press.) I think that tends to relieve some stress.

Collecting diecasts 1/18:1 (like 34) mostly
I also have a crap load of 1/24:1 scale too, from the later 90's

I'm a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt so that's pretty much the only hobby I have time for other than lifting. I suppose I like my Harley as well. Other than that I hike with my dog and am working to restore the forest around my house that have been neglected by planting new pines and sawing down old dead crap and vines.

Well besides the car stuff I spend time on other geeky things like comic books, electronics and computers. That’s mainly it.
