Anyone have a magazine article, reference source, or personal time slip? Just curious how my project car would compare to the same car when new. Thank you.

My buddies 72 318 Charger, ran about 18 second quarters, back in the late 70's.

74 road Runner,318 2 bbl with factory dual exhaust had a rating of 150 hp. With a 3.21 gear it ran high 17's.Neighbor had one when new back in 74.

My project car ran a couple of 18.4 @ 75 MPH with the 2.76 rear end at Sonoma Raceway last March--only used the first two gears. This is with the original 318 which was rebuilt in 1979 according to a tag soldered onto the rear of the block. Only "performance" mod was dual exhaust that exit in front of the rear tires.

Guess I don't feel too bad, my 72 Coronet wagon ran 18.6s with a stock 318 with duels. Guess having a 3.25 gear helped. Kinda boring but it was consistent as a rock.

Consistency wins races......

Pretty sure the dual exhaust 318s were rated 170 HP versus the single exhaust at 150.
