What's the most any of you all would pay for a running 1968 440 engine 350 hp. unknown miles?

I like running, easier to tell if the block is cracked. However no way to know it isn't punched 60 over already. $500 but it's still a gamble.

I paid $450 for a non running, 74 production unit. I was hoping to do just a basic overhaul, rings/bearings/gaskets/seals/pumps/cam/lifters etc. Ended up needing a full on rebuild.
