Ok need help .....when I shift from first to second there is a horrible smell of something burning in the car cant tell if its oil or something else but the car runs fine and shifts fine it only does this when I shift it from first to second and am getting on it

Anyone have any opinion on where to look? Someone said the PCV is bad others have said tranny leak ....

well !!! does it leak trans fluid ??, that stinks,
especially when it his the exhaust, but it would leak in all gears you would think...

doesn't smell in all gears only smells when I get on it mainly .....

Its cool ...Im just paranoid about this car .....it has a VERY special meaning to me and I don't want something to get screwed up that can be fixed

Sounds like the clutch. It may need adjustment or due for replacement - they stink when they slip too much.

Sounds like it may be spitting transmission fluid out of the dip stick tube when you are getting on it.

So, does it smell like a fluid on a hot surface, or plactic burning? Either way, I would 1st be looking for staining on exhaust system (manifolds/ headers, headpipes, cross-over tube). Find the stain and work your way forward and up, tracking down the leak.

Things that could leak:
Oil pressure sending unit
Valve cover
Distributor hole
Dipstick (usually caused by piston blow-by)
Trans dipstick tube (auto trans)
Speed-O gear housing
Outputshaft seal
Rear main seal
Oil filter
Oil pan

If it is burnt plastic...again, I would start by inspecting the exhaust...looking for something that is coming in contact with it when the motor moves (it does when torque is demanded from it).

Any wiring near exhaust
Any hoses near exhaust
Speed-O cable near exhaust

Good luck in your search!

thanks for the areas to look at ...the tube I never thought about honestly ...its an auto 727 ....always has had a small leak but nothing to write home about like if I don't drive it for a week theres a few drops on the floor .....

It is burnt rubber. And that little chirp you are hearing is the rear tires breaking loose.
Nothing to worry about. ..perfectly normal. :)

It's a semi-well known fact that when shifting a Mopar from 1st to 2nd the dramatic increase in acceleration can cause unintended posterior emissions ... most commonly from the passenger or rear seat seat area ... just sayin'.
