Wheel wells...

When I replace my shocks soon I am planning to get into the wheel wells and remove/remediate the slight rust that has formed. I have read about the use of the Rust Tough Rust Fix spray that basically turns rust into a black "primer" but would like to hear some feedback if any of you have used it. As a top coat, I am going to spray some DupliColor UnderCoat in there to seal it from moisture and dirt.

On another (unrelated) note, has anyone polished the under side of their gas tank before? Mine has seen better days, so I planned to just take some #0000 steel wool and metal polish to get it looking decent again...any issue with doing this?

I have never used Rust Tough, but I have used Eastwoods Rust Converter. It works great and is very easy to use. I put it on some spots on my work truck and it stopped the rust well and continues to do so.

Good to hear, thanks for the reply...I would assume that these products are similar so I'll give the Rust Tough a shot since it's available pretty much everywhere.

Probably going to use this on my under-carriage as well as leaf springs prior to painting.

The only concern I could note is that it takes 24 hours to fully cure before topcoat. So don't be in too much of a hurry.

I've had a majority of this car torn apart since October so I don't think I will be in too much of a hurry....just in a hurry for this weather to turn, damn Upstate NY.
