, I mean a Mopar Performance Part. But I don't see the part number on it. You'll even be happier-assed you did not go for the Orange box one, from what I read about that box. My box on the right is 1978 DC vintage the one on the left is 2015 MP vintage.Good reply Mr B!And make sure you grind a nice bare metal spot for the mounting bolts because it grounds through the body of the VR!
Thanks! Just speaking from my own miserable expiriences lolGood reply Mr B!
The part #is the same as the one you show, just enough angle that you can't see it...and oooh yeah I'm done with the orange boxes even my 'made in usa' unit turned out to be a p.o.s.....View attachment 412890
Be gentle when snugging down the wire harness screw or you will strip out that sheet metal center nut.
Your Made In USA one is a Mopar Direct Connection part opps, I mean a Mopar Performance Part. But I don't see the part number on it. Nope, I carry a spare ballast resistor as well as a spare orange box. Mine says "Made In USA".Am I the only one who also has extra ballast resistors in the glove box just in case?
Must have been Detroit, Taiwan.....I ordered a detroit truetrack, just figured it was made in usa, nope, made in taiwan. wtf?
The 5 pin was the original style for your year, for use with the dual ballast resistor...most that you find now are 4 and if they have a 5th pin you don't need it, just use a single two-terminal ballast resistor...best of my recollection maybe someone can back me up on that...if you want to be original all the way find a 5 pin and dual resistor, your wiring should be set up for that styleIs there a difference between the 4 bin and 5 pin? Had parts missing from my 74 Charger so I need one but not sure which one to get.
