If you have one, post it so we all can experience the creativity of some people.

I hope that if I ever resort to something like that someone takes away my tools - all of them.

Working at a garage a customer came in with a farm truck to get it inspected. There was bailing twine going out each wing vent and tied to the wipers. Also was a piece of twine tied to the clutch pedal to bring it up after depressing it. The boss said everything works!

Well there are some vehicles you need to remove the entire dash to remove the HVAC unit to replace a $250 actuator.
So if you have a high milage beater and don't want to pay the dealer 10.5 hours labor at $166 per flat hour you do what you can.

you got to do what you got to do.

Yes what a screwed deal when they went to that actuator setup. Cables worked far to good for too long, dealerships can't make any money off of those.

I saw my dad working on his old ford truck one day. I don't remember why but i happened to look down the carburetor and i **** you not, there was a f'ing copper brillo pad shoved down the throat of it! Somehow he though that would make it run better.
