Yes what a screwed deal when they went to that actuator setup. Cables worked far to good for too long, dealerships can't make any money off of those.Well there are some vehicles you need to remove the entire dash to remove the HVAC unit to replace a $250 actuator.
So if you have a high milage beater and don't want to pay the dealer 10.5 hours labor at $166 per flat hour you do what you can.

You never know what works till you try it.I saw my dad working on his old ford truck one day. I don't remember why but i happened to look down the carburetor and i **** you not, there was a f'ing copper brillo pad shoved down the throat of it! Somehow he though that would make it run better.
