Took a drive and found myself face to face with this-

Went for a cruise today as I do often, I just don't post it. I took my car to the body shop to have a spot on the passenger door from something that a car in front of me threw up that hit the chrome around the windshield also, fixed. Next Wednesday is the day. The body shop I use only worked on old hot rods back in the day. They've been doing my work since 1978.

Bell & Osborne. Best place in town. Roger used to live a couple blocks from me.

Same old boring place... work. It’s been my work car since 2014. The salt (car melt) they use here in Pa. is why you don’t see many cars older than 15 years here. It’s starting to get mine.:(

Pa has nothing on ODOT. I've seen late model trucks rotted out worse than older cars.

They are the best!! They have painted a few of my cars over the years and gotten a few hard to find pieces for me. I swear, you get around like a donut. You're starting to scare me!!! LOL.

I drive mine all the time. I'm retired, but my coronet was bought to drive. This car must look good, but It's a driver, not garage furniture. Those days are over for me. I just don't get upset about it anymore. If it breaks, fix it and go on. I have a friend who could afford to drive anything, his daily driver is a black 66 chevelle ss. It has a LS9 and a 6 speed. Unbelievable, but true. His hobby is building outlaw cars. The 405 and that crazy JJ da boss. This goes back 15 plus years ago when 600 to 800 was a butt load of HP. Street cars, fully furnished, no pro mods.

I was cleaning the garage today, had her backed out and all warmed up so what the heck!

I blew the spider webs out of the exhaust the second round around the neighborhood. Stopped and put some 93 in the tank and romped on it some more!

Put her away next to her new stable mate :)

They look great side by side!! Love your Dakota!! I had a 97 ram, extended cab, sold it to get the 98, first year the rear door opened. I've had a lot of new cars and truck in my life, but I really liked my 2000 Dakota, first year four door, 360. To get the 360 you either had a RT or this set up. I had the bumpers painted totally white. It's a couple years old in this picture. I kept it long after I needed it. I already had my 2004, four door ram. So I sold it to a kid that kept bugging me about buying it. I sold it to him so cheap he cried. I get off on doing that, my wife just shakes her head and laughs at me. He was just a kid, he'll never forget it, he loved it. We both got a great story out of it!!

I bought her 4/1/22. We went to the DMV to do the title transfer.

Trying to relive "Bullet" will do that.

On my way to the body shop, waited for the rain to stop and the streets to dry. A few pictures of the inside of their office.

Got a phone call from the body man Saturday asking if there was anything else I'd like for him to do to the car. I told him to walk around it and fix anything he felt like, do to it like he would if it was his. Just make it right, remember, I drive this thing all the time and like any car, **** happens. When I dropped it off, I never asked him what it would cost, just fix it. They're fair and this isn't the first time they've worked on one of my cars, including painting whole cars and we know each other very well. I'm sure I won't be to surprised.

Went to pick up my 65 last week from my body man. They did a great job finding a spot on the door that they needed to cut a 6 inch square piece out to get to good metal. Most of the passengers side of the car was painted. I'm waiting for clips for the windshield trim to show up from year one. Went for a ride and stopped for an early lunch.
