Where did you and your car go today

Well yesterday drove a couple of cities over for Tday, used the '22 Mav and it made me think of the other thread on modern cars and spare tires. Not because of the tire but that I'm glad I took it because a year ago I drove a 1998 Toyota to the same house and on the way back the lighting issue was terrible and the glare really bugged me, it was barely an issue in the new car.

Quick wipe down, heading out soon for an cruise inn. Haven't had any of the cars out since late August.

Since last Monday, I put 2400 miles on this

2001 cummins 24v, 6 speed stick. Started with ~284k miles. Towed the empty 24' trailer from MD to FL, commuted 2h each way from st Augustine to Ocala and back for 3 days loading Michelle's recently-passed brothers effects, installed a new entry door (right side up),

then pulled the loaded trailer from FL to MD yesterday. Traffic made yesterday a nonstop 8am-1am adventure. Cruise at 70, 1950rpm, 50psi oil pressure, temp 190, cruising boost 20psi on flat ground and up to 35psi when needed, EGTs sitting right at 800 cruising (up to 1000 on grades or when passing). Averaged 13mpg for the trip, and used about 2qts of oil (breather vent tube fogging oil the whole way...but hey, now the chassis is rustproofed!!).

Now I need to jockey the trailer around to get it out of the driveway, down to the apartment to unload, and return it once empty. With a right knee that refuses to work at all. On an inch of fresh powder.

Yay.

Now, that's keeping busy!! LOL

Not today, actually last Tuesday, merged the 'Net onto the 101 freeway like a regular car for the first time ever. Was only a quick 5 min drive to go from one end of town to another, but it seems pretty happy around 70mph. Not much power but it managed.
My cam wouldn't focus on the onramp sign.

The plan this weekend is go around 27 miles away on the freeway, hope I make it without any hassles.

Went to my usual Morro Bay Saturday hangout. Jeff from Vegas came out for a weekend trip with his honey and I hooked him up with my takeout 67 k-frame. He needed a good one for his 66 Convertible. Win win for both of us.

Too cold in NY. I’m done for the season. Car up on Quick Jack for an engine compartment refresh. I’m going to touch up the paint on the engine and accessories. Headers coming out and oem exhaust manifolds going on. Detail crap like that. Can’t wait to lay on my cold garage floor. More pics to follow as I progress…

Well did the first longish kind of drive on the freeway, total mileage was 55 miles, sometimes doing around 85 just to see how it felt. Mainly cruised 70mph. It was early on a Sunday with light traffic on the 101. Lots of wind noise but otherwise drove nice and straight and seemed to happily buzz along. Destination was a Dutch Bros in Soledad that my neighbor really likes. He wants to repeat the drive in the old Vette and Ranchero next.
