Where to retire......

Bart, I live 3 minutes from the AZ border,,does it count ??

I would only move back to Pa because of long time family and friends.

Since you only live 3 minutes from the border, I grant you Honorary Arizona Citizen status Darter6! I have family and friends in Oregon (where I moved from) and I have no thought of going back. These are my last years and I am going to do what I want to do, I spent the previous 40 years doing what I had to do for others. This is MY time.

A wise old man once told me "THERE IS NO PERFECT PLACE TO LIVE."
Since the place you are is what you make of it I have to disagree,,

like I said 30" of snow, but I get to watch the kids rip down the hill outback on sleds.
Summer when its humid and hot out, I get to take the kids to the boat and cook clams in the sand.
Raining, I get to cuddle up to my wife and sit with some music playing while we watch the water clean everything for us..

Today its not snowing but windy, we decided to stay home but later we are going to bring some soup my wife is making to a friend..

I would say there isn't much I would change, If I lived somewhere 70 and comfortable all day and night, I think I would miss a cool autumn night, and I would miss the snow. After working my whole life and running this race, I enjoy being trapped in the house once and a while...

I am glad you are happy where you are Superb Bee! As another wise man once said "To each, his own".

We got 30" of snow in the last 4 days, its winter. Granted, I have thought about a warmer climate, but that is easily outweighed by being close to my family. I don't care if it was 12 months of rain, sleet, snow, or fire, I would "weather" it to be with my family and friends, because I imagine that if I was forced to be away from them I would fight till my last breath to get back to them.
That's a lot of snow. We may get 30" all winter, but it compacts and the wind that follows a snow fall can make this place like Antarctica. I've seen -35 last winter

My grandparents live in Mesa 6 months out of the year. I swear that town has Tripled in the last 5 years. I used to think commuting was easy there, this last time I coulda swore I was in Downtown Phoenix and I was on the outskirts
