Another night where the mind refuses
to turn off. I'm guessing it has to do
with age, as four hours sleep seems to
be enough, as I wake up clear headed
and raring to go. Takes the body
another couple hours to catch up
with the mind, but a couple cups of
hot black coffee does the trick.
I got to thinking about how many
vehicles I've owned since I was
awarded a drivers' license.
This list is not embellished in any
way. From the age of 16 to 68....
(and it would be great if I had the
proverbial 20-20).
1967 Ford Galaxy
1965 Ford F-100 Custom Cab
1966 Pontiac Catalina
1965 Ford GT 350
1977 Jeep J-10
1974 Ford Maverick
1972 Toyota Corolla
1973 Ford F-100
1978 Jeep Wagoneer
1979 Jeep CJ7
1988 Buick Park Avenue
1981 Corvette
1985 Ford GT 5.0 Convertable
1989 Ford F-250 4x4

1987 Jeep Wrangler
1998 Ford F-150
2012 Mustang GT
2014 Mustang GT
2012 Toyota Camry.

Anyone else got a list this
long?

Great list. It's going to be interesting
to witness personal taste and
direction. Thanks for the reply.

I used to love to sleep...until my 3rd cancer, the one where it flatlined me during surgery
and cost me a kidney (and some giant scars to show off to friends later).
That was 2013. Just had my 10th anniversary on that one (April 11)....so I'm out of warranty
now. :)
(Doc said: "10 years - if you're lucky")
Ever since, if I get 3 hours sleep in a night, that's pretty good. 4 is RARE. Mostly, it's a couple
or three, depending on how good the show is (dreams).
I've got one of those brains that doesn't ever shut down; it can be exhausting.
Only way to slow it down is to drug it, but I have high resistance to that stuff too, turns out).

Ok, enough of that blather. My car list eh?
Pretty short compared to a lot of you, I'm sure:
'73 VW bus (Pops' old commuter van. I blew up the transaxle on it w/holeshots)
'71 Simca 1204 (bet nobody ever heard of those!)
'64 Olds F85 (V-6 power!)
'66 Chevelle 4dr six
'68 Chevelle wagon (307, crop duster)
'68 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed (black, black and black - nice car)
'73 Toyota Celica (a freebie w/no reverse, but a tough little car)
'73 Cutlass S (Rocket 350)
'74 Cutlass (ditto)
'68 Super Bee 440/4speed (first real Mopar, other than families' '68 Monaco wagon as kids)
'68 Super Bee (another, bought from original owner)
'68 Road Runner hemi (yeah, a real one. I flipped it, thought I got rich....my dumb ***)
'85 Dodge GLH Turbo (fun but dainty, broke a lot)
'89 5.0 Mustang LX Sport 5-speed (best car I've ever owned - shoot me)
'94 Dakota V-6 (good little truck)
'96 Jeep Grand Cherokee (toughest engine ever, 4.0)
'04 Ram SLT 4x4 hemi (still own, it's a keeper)
'06 Charger R/T hemi (nice car)
'68 GTX 440/4spd ("Fred!")
'12 Charger R/T hemi (nicer car, still the wife's car today)

There's been a few other flipper type rides over the years, but I tend to hang onto the ones
I like nowadays - and lament the ones I sold (I'd kill to have either of the Super Bees back).
Now, the pack mules we got are it as far as I'm concerned, including my tractor - I'm done,
short of something catastrophic forcing a change somewhere.

It's the alien mind control in Roswell, NM :)
Or all the smoke from Canada.

Nice lists of cars.
I woke up, paid a few bills, and I'm going back to sleep.
Take care all of you......

I too can’t seem to sleep much past 4:00 in the morning. Often times it’s earlier.

I got a lot of exercise yesterday so I slept well. I still have been waking up at 5:30 and needing a nap after lunch.

My list lacks in comparison, but I too wish I had 20/20 on at least three:

1966 Chevelle Super Sport- 32k original miles when I got it- haunts me
1969 Chevelle Super Sport- original drivetrain when purchased- haunts me

1968 Chevy pick up- turd
1969 Dodge Charger R/T- Haunts me the most ever! Not original, but 440 6pk, lemon twist yellow, stripe delete car. Engine was phenomenal
1969 Dodge Charger R/T- current ride (in the spirit of my former Charger. Much nicer in originality, but 4sp as opposed to automatic.
1980 Trans Am Turbo- Gutless, but first new car!
1980 Jeep Cherokee
1982 Chevy stepside pick up
1984 Ford F-150
2004 (I think) Dodge Dakota
2008 Chevy Silverado 1500
2012 Dodge Ram 1/2 ton. Loved this truck, but kept tearing up the rear end towing my trailers. Still miss it.
2017 Chevy Silverado 1500
2022 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss

I would buy my former Charger back today if I could ever find it, nothing close to original, but lord I love that car :( As luck would have it, first real job was in Filthadelphia, no garage and no money.....
Had to sell my baby, 12,500 dollars. breaks my heart in case you can't tell LOL

I run on 6 hrs for the most part.
Long list of cars and trucks owned.
most are not very exciting.
I have had a pretty fair line up of mopar muscle cars ,
Through the 70s and 80s damn things were dirt cheap.
I was not smart enough to stash a few back then.

Over 800 car and trucks, six motorcycles, four motorhomes, and three travel trailers. Oh, and one boat (never, ever again!), one go-kart and three mini-bikes. All from age 12 on.

Five hours during the weekdays, eight on the weekends.

I suffered panic attacks, anxiety as a result of Covid, and was not sleeping well. My Doc put me on medication for this, and I am pretty good now, and sleeping has gotten a lot better, except for occasional trips to bathroom. LOL.
My car list:
1939 Buick coupe ( my high school car)
1951 Chrysler Imperial (my first Hemi car)
1956 Buick Special
1959 Pontiac Catalina (389 Tripower, I should have kept that one)
1962 Dart 2-door (I put a 383, 4- speed in it)
1969 Super Bee (my first new car. Wish I had it back.)
1963 Dodge 440 (4-door hardtop with factory bucket seats)
1963 Dodge 440 convertible
1970 Gremlin (I was much smaller back then. LOL)
1970 Buick Wildcat 455 (one of the best vehicles I have owned)
1966 Dodge 100 pickup
1977 GMC Suburban (POS, one of the worst vehicles I owned)
1937 Oldsmobile 8 (sold these to buy my R/T)
1938 Packard Super 8
1974 AMC Hornet
1977 Plymouth Caravelle (the sound of it rusting would keep me awake)
1978 Dodge Diplomat
1964 Polara 4-door hardtop (I still have it)
1964 Polara 500 convertible
1981 Imperial (likely the worst vehicle I owned)
1987 5th. Ave. (very good car)
1988 Dakota pickup (I put a 360 in it, very peppy)
1967 Coronet wagon (I made one-of-none R/T wagon of it)
1967 Coronet R/T (I still have it)
2000 Ram 1500 ClubCab
2004 PT Cruiser
2005 Magnum R/T Hemi
2015 Dodge Durango
2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee
plus about 10 various parts cars

I average about 6 hours myself. I’m lucky with sleep, when it’s time, I’m out like a light.I don’t have any problems, When the kids were little they could do anything and it wouldn’t wake me up, if there was a problem I’d be up in an instant. So far with vehicles, I’m at 32 Mopars (4 currently) 3 Internationals and 2 GMC’s. I wasn’t into cars when I was younger, trucks were my thing. Good thing I don’t have the space, I would have bought my 18th 1st gen last week. I told my little lady, no more moving. Had an 8 car garage 2 houses ago, 4 the last house and 3 this one. I don’t have time to get my current 150, ready for paint, been working so much. I do drive it as much as possible, not a speck of rust. Want to custom paint it like an 87 I had. I have done the interior with buckets, custom console, door panels, color change, etc.. Had a couple guys want to buy it, ain’t for sale.

Don't sleep as well as I used to, surprise, surprise. Been doing a lot of strenuous work moving my kid and starting work on her old (ancient) house. Had neck surgery 6 months ago so not quite the same as I was.
Doesn't help to be woken up by the police ringing and rapping on the door at midnight though. Live a 1/4 off the main road and don't get a lot of visitors especially after dark. Took a while to get back to sleep.
Ride history is pale by comparison involving 3 restorations (2.5 maybe): 63 GP, 57 T-Bird, 67 GTO vert, 70 Cuda vert, 73 Challenger, 74 Vette, 72 Cutlass vert (semi-cloned it to 442), and current ride 63 Plymouth vert. Aside from 2 Dakotas, a '97 1500, and 91 2500 plow. Been enough to fill up my box, lol.

I ran on four hours a night in my younger days. Now that I've retired, I'm catching up, get nine a night. Get more awake spells now, never happened when I was tired all the time. My vehicle list has been dominated by Mopars, but a few hand me downs from my wife have altered the mix somewhat.

I have had my bouts with sleep difficulty throughout my life.
For sure familiar with the brain not shutting off thing.
Diabetes can cause you to "never be tired when you go to bed, but always be tired when you wake up". That happened to me for at least a decade.
Lately I've been much better.
Cats can potentially cause you to get up at basically any hour.

I actually take just a "gnaw" of store brand acetaminophen with that allergy med "sleep aid".
All I need to do is drag a tablet across my front tooth about an hour before bed.

My wife can take a whole pill and still not get to sleep.

usually I'm the opposite-= I need 2-3 times more of a medication than what works for everyone else.

@1STMP Do parts cars count or ones that were bought to fix up but got sold instead?
