I'd like to know if i'm the only one who drops tools when they work on their car?
It seems like i
either drop a tool or a fastener always at the wrong time.
it never fails that i lose a fastener somewhere and always find it 6 months later.
Better yet who bangs their head when they work on their car?

I drop tools and fasteners all the time. If I didn't bump my head at least once while working on a car something would be wrong. I have had more scrapes and knots over the years than I could ever remember. If anyone says they don't, I'm afraid I would have to say they are not being honest. Keep up wrenching and bumping.

ALL the time, Who doesn't have the same magic wand i have, you know the one, it pulls out with a magnet on the end... Thats just for the small stuff, The hood latch is like 4 maybe more inches long on my car, last fall , never mind i had a scar all winter from last falls tearing down of the front of engine because of new timing chain and gears. BUT what made me look hard at this right now is in the same place on top of my head i cracked it yesterday by not thinking AGAIN putting the carb back on and cracked it so hard i was stumbling around thinking i was going down! the truth so help me, hurts like a son of a ____ Ron.

it never fails to happen.

Yha, the damn headers have eaten more header bolts than I can count. Them buggers fall down somwhere between the tubes only to never be seen again.

One time a nut got dropped with the valve covers off. They looked and looked and never found the nut. They were pretty sure it didn't drop down the head.

A year later when the motor was at the engine builders being freshend up he found the nut in the bottom of the pan.

Always slam my head on something. Actually knocked myself out once. Also have a huge scar on back of my head from falling backwards out of engine compartmant and falling directly on my head. Had a big old junkyard beater late 70's K5 Blazer that I threw a 350 in. Lifted it and had to sit in engine compartment to work on engine. Shoelace or something got caught on hood latch and down I went.
Also, who hasnt busted up their hands while winging a drum brake job by themselves with only a screwdriver and pliers.

I found a 3/4 impact socket in the frame of a customers car that i lost 5 years ago. It was so rusted i could barely recognize it...haha

X2 on the bolts/nuts falling into the header collector. I am always dropping something it there. I hate when I am under the car because I know I will eat a wrench or two before the job is done.

As for banging your head. I am bald and with no hair my head cuts easy. The slightest of bumps will end up cutting my head. I was under the car tonight and I will be damned if I didn't hit my head on the same sharp corner at least 4 times. I will have to wear a hat to work for the next couple of day so I don't have to answer a 1000 questions.

Man thats priceless... Hope ya kept it and hung it up for a real conversation peace...5 years.. Way to good..

sad but true

well guys, this really hit home for me. pardon the pun. i have a 2 post lift in the shop for maybe 7 years. so i decide i want a 4 post with the wheel kit for other purposes also. real cool, 2 lifts, extra storage and i can roll the one outside for cleaning jobs and when using the 4 post a really cool tray beside you for tools.
i was under the 4 doing some thing and the other half comes in and tells me something very important in her mind, i make a half turn to come out and answer her important input and catch the ramp square in the certer of the noggin. down i go to my knees and start mumbling some obscure stuff. she freaks which makes it worse. i sit down the fog lifts and back to work.

next day i am in the shop gather my wits and prepare to finish the job on the 4 post. when i get under the car here is a peddle bikers helmet tucked up by the collector pipe with a note. " just think about it". i was done, drink beer, roll up and listen to tunes.

she is a hoot some times and some times a pain in the butt.:headbang::icon_pidu:

If ye ain't bleeding, ya ain't workin'. That's my motto.
And why does crap always fall square under the middle of the car? I always used to think that was the best way to find the instant center of the car.

I should have. I ended up cleaning it up with the wire wheel and now it's back in service...lol I had it replaced with a cheap JET socket for quite a while, but now my Snap-on set is complete again...hahaha

yep ive hit my head on my old valiant steel dash-lol once or twice but when working in cramped areas im allways getting scrapped

Nice timing of this poll;

Earlier today I was on my back looking up, working on a bellhousing bolt and dropped the wrench, straight ended, onto my forehead.

Luckily is was the box end and not the sharp pointy wrench end.

First thing I do after getting the car up in the air is pull the ramps off the back of the lift and set them on the ground! I do this for a reason, I've already got enough distinguishing marks!

The triangle shaped makes permanently engraved in my cranium are priceless!
