Who has dared to drive across country in a classic Mopar?

I've driven my 68 Sport Satellite through New Mexico at night approaching Roswell on 2 lane roads, SOOOOO many rabbits would run across the road at the last minute. There was no time to stop. We slowed down, but rabbits kept a'coming. I estimate we ran over at least 20 in a 10 mile stretch. Don't forget that wildlife hazards can be a probable issue once you get out of the major cities and put some miles behind you. I carry zip ties now for underside damage repair.

Rabbits? What the heck? This is the first time I ever heard of people encountering suicidal rabbits crossing the road.

Did it a couple years ago, South Carolina to San Diego, the car is much different now but I’m ready to do it again! It was a blast.

On Guam it was Coconut Crabs.... After dark hundreds of them would blockade the road between the barracks & my command... You could wait for them to move.... But I've seen it take 30+ minutes for the whole group to pass...

In FL, it's "nickel toads".

Every now and then, after a good spring rain, there can be hundreds of them crossing a road.

Occasionally they jump up and get a leg caught in an exhaust hanger.

Not cross country but 3.5 hrs or so to Van Nuys today for the Fall Fling on Saturday.

Last year we took Route 66 to Kingman Arizona then up to the Grand Canyon. That was 4100 miles. We went to cruise the coast this year, that trip was 3000 miles.

My brother moved to Sacramento in the 60s.
I drove from Pa. to there in my 67 SF convertible 383 4 speed.
When I got to Donner pass they made me put tire chains on to go over the pass, yes back then nearly every body around here had tire chains in their cars, So because it was not posi I just put on one side, I got less than 2 miles and was stopped again, tried to explain and he did not want to here it. Put the other one on or park it.

Reminds me of 1980 when I got stopped in that area because of a snow storm. The guy looked at my plates and said, "Oh, you are from Wisconsin, you can go." I was happy to hear that since I didn't have any chains.
