There is a member here that got all pissy when I called him out on his claim that his car weighed 3300 lbs. He doesn't post much anymore.
Quoting a factory spec like that is like saying your car can turn a 14.5 quarter mile time because the magazine test in 1968 stated as such.
My own '70 Charger weighed 3660 with the stock 318, 3750 after a 440-727-8 3/4"-front disc swap, 3940 with HD suspension, frame connectors, torque boxes, sound deadener and aluminum heads....4000 lbs even with the new A/C kit, 3940 again after swapping to a 5 speed manual.

I had my '62 Savoy Suburban weighed using a platform scale under each wheel in order to determine the best diameter torsion bars for my driving needs (street cruising/ride quality).

Description: 440 V8, 4-spd., 8 3/4, 3.23, dual exh., front disc/rear drum brakes, 15x7 steel wheels, 225/70R/15 front, 275/60/15 rear (Cooper Cobra), manual steering, stock interior, no opt. equip., stock/rebuilt front suspension set to FSM susp. height of 1 1/2" + or - 1/8", .88" t/bars (P/N -776 & -777, 471 date code), 6 leaf rear springs (new 4 yrs. ago from Espo Springs N' Things), Gabriel Classic shocks.

Weight: 3,890 lbs., full fuel, no driver (add 190 lbs.)
        - Lt. front 1,060
        - Rt. front 880
        - Lt. rear 970
        - Rt. rear 980

Note: a friends '62 Suburban weighs 3,830 lbs.

Yes, it surprised me too! I thought with 600+ lbs. of engine weight, it would've been more nose heavy. At least now I know I need larger diameter torsion bars.

Fairly bone stock (except alum intake and headers) 383 15" magnums and vinyl top not much fuel came in at 3775. So with a 225lb driver all in is 4000.
Some cars have lots of mud in them so you will see skewed results

I had my 70 Coronet weighed years ago. It was 4200#s, but I was also living in it at the time.

With me in the car, helmet, fire jacket, full nitrous bottle and 55 lbs. of ballast in the trunk, it weighed 3,740 lbs. total. Basically as raced right after a 10.0 pass.

3,450 lbs. for the car by itself.

1,940 lbs. on the front wheels, so 52% front and 48% rear weight distribution. Not horrible for all steel, complete interior and still having a stock radiator, battery up front, etc.

It is radio and heater delete along with Wilwood front brakes, aluminum heads and water pump/housing.

Lightest was 3,280 lbs. before six point cage install, nitrous bottle, supplemental fuel cell, etc.
