So this name is on the id pad. Anyone know why?

Potentially a previous owner. I have a motorcycle with the PO's SSN on the frame and another with the PO's name on the flywheels.

I remember in the 70's into the 80's having a set of alpha-numeric stamps was kind of a big thing, and people would stamp their name on stuff.

Was promoted as being anti-theft as well, like an engraver.
