I bought a distributor and there's no o-ring around the base, where it seals against the block. Anyone know who sells them or what part number to search for?
Many auto parts stores have a kit of various sizes of O - rings. That's how I found one for my distributor. I think it was my local Car Quest where I got mine.
Any auto parts store should have a Fel-Pro,Victor or other gasket manufacturer part # available. All Mopar distributors have the same size o-ring,there is also a gasket available.
I went to Napa and the assortment they had wasn't even close. The larger the diameter the thicker the seal and there was no way it would fit. Went to Advance Auto and scored!!! Huge assortment with 8 the right size, so I bought 4 of them. I like having spares of cheap parts! Thanks for the help!!!
They certainly can be found at many part stores. However, I just ordered 10 Viton o-rings from Fastenal for $10. Part number 0480890. The size of the o-ring is #133 which is 1 13/16 ID, 2 OD and 3/32 Thick (all measurements in inches).
