Why doesn't your new compressor keep up...

So you have an air tool that per the specs uses 3.4 CFM @ 90 psi & your compressor is rated at 4.1 CFM @ 90 psi but for some reason the compressor just can't seem to keep up....

Not to mention the guy doing the video is a character...

I'm OK. I also have a bit (400 gallon) more storage than that provided by Quincy.

I had to get a new compressor and it barley kept up with the blast cabinet. I took the old tank and piped it in to the new compressor. What a difference it made.

Oh man, I'm still laughing - and now watching his stuff on YT. He's AWESOME!
Thanks for sharing this!

Yeah, I got a hodgepodge setup too, where one of those stand-up "oil less" jobbers on a 20 gallon tank is
coupled up to a donated 3 cylinder big-arsed blue critter from the Lowe's with I want to say a 60 gallon tank.
Between the two of 'em, it's LOUD and the output ain't nearly enough, but it gets me by.
Good thing I don't paint or participate in NASCAR pit stops, though...

My 30 CFM Bel-Air keeps up just fine, although the blast cabinet/hopper will empty the 80 gallon tank in about one minute.

Why am I not surprised. Sounds somewhat akin to the way they used to measure HP, at the flywheel vs at the drive wheels. Marketers are like politicians, tell the people what they want to hear. Just remember that "figures don't lie, but liars figure".

guess they don't make em like they used to..... my 1982 Quincy blows more than a 10 dollar prostitute

Yes Mike, Nice layout! Put the holding tank where it doesn't use up valuable floor space
and copper to dissipate the heat. The compressor uses less juice too because it's not
constantly starting. Wish I had the room!

more reserve storage air tanks are always a plus
