Why doesn’t mopar sell brand new 440 375 horse crate engines. Remember a few years ago you could buy real mopar big blocks new. I know they were 500 plus strokers but wouldn’t it be just great to order a brand new never installed mopar factory 440 magnum crate motor. Kinda like gm does good wrench 350

GM was casting 350 blocks well into 2000's & may still, if they don't the aftermarket does, all the way from a Dart more or less OE style block to full race pieces... So block availability is great

Chrysler quit casting 440 blocks in 1978 or maybe a few in 1979... And there are no aftermarket blocks, the have been a few race blocks but all have been $$$$

Chrysler threw out all the tooling during the Chrysler bail out. No molds anymore. Only aftermarket racing blocks based on the Hemi casting are available.

Didn't they sell the BB tooling back in the 80's or 90's?

I've never heard anything about who bought it or what they intended to do with it.

EDit- actually I do remember hearing who bought it at the time but don't remember and have not heard anything about it since.

Fiat/Chrysler has been, even before Fiat, getting away from the old stuff and concentrating on modern cars and parts.
Even though not my style(Yeah, I'm a caveman) business is business.

Is it really that hard to find a 440? One of the builders was selling RB crate motors a few years ago, don’t recall who. And just look at how much hp you can wring out of a 6.1/6.4 modern hemi.

CME Carolina Machine Engines ? Indy too will build standard spec 383 400 440
