I searched through a few pages but didn't see an answer. What's the widest wheel and proper offset for the rear of a 70 Bee? What's a good sized tire that will fit without rubbing? thanks, tmm

With those huge wheel wells I think you can probably run just about anything you want.

I had 10 or 12 inch wide cragars with an incredible dish and 12" wide tires (either L 60 or M 50, can't remember).

No prob, no rub.

...and the 68-70 Dodge will take a larger tire than the Plymouth without issue.

so just guessing that 20" rims off a recent (2011) SRT8 Challenger will fit under the Coronet? Or will there be rub issues? Anyone?

biggest i have seen is (without mods) is a 22x11 rim with 305/35 22.

with mods i have heard you can run a 315.

i used to use a 15x10 with 295 50 15 and had heaps for room, heres a link you can have a look at to work out sizes.

On my '69 'Bee currently I run 15X10 Mag 500's with a 5 inch backspace, Hoosier 295X60 X15's. No rubbing, inside or out, fills wheel well perfectly and corners like crazy, with a nice highway ride. In front, currently 15X7 Mag 500's with BFG 235X60's. Want to go to 15X8 Mag 500's and probably MT 245X60X 15's. Anyone know a proper backspace for front. 15X7's get lost in front wheel well.

'68 thru '70 B Dodges have larger wheel wells all around than same year Satellites. Have had both. 15X9 max for Satilite in rear.

What backspace did you use, Photon?

I really don't know. In fact I knew nothing about backspacing when I bought the rims in 1980. But they're still kicking around (Appliance 5 spoke) so I could put the tape to them.

Out of curiosity I sized up 19x12.5 -35 offset rims on the back of a 70 charger and would work. Im assuming the wheel wells are similar.
