Winter is coming

It's about time for me to put my RR in the garage for the winter. I'm very new to owning a classic car and want to make sure I take the proper steps to store it correctly. Tricks, tips and advice welcome. 383/727 car.

Don't...... that's my answer. Some of you may have longer more intense winters than us in Ohio but there's always days here and there that the roads are clean of salt to get it out. I just get it out once in awhile to run some gas threw it and make sure it's sealed up tight against mice and call it good.

if you do store for a long time, disconnect a battery terminal and put a tender on it. keep a rug or cardboard underneath to prevent moisture from coming up.

if it sits too long the tires can get flat spots

All I do is disconnect battery and put a cover over it. Battery still has a full charge in spring and she lites right up once the float bowls fill.

Depending on how the building you store it in is. Check the antifreeze -35, put some stabil in the fuel tank. Let it idle for a few minutes to get some in the lines and carb, remove the battery. I throw a few dryer sheets in the cab. Sprinkle mothballs on the concrete around it. Put a nice b-body car cover over it. (Find one at classic industries) and then throw a couple of old sheets over that. If you get bored during the winter put the battery back in and start her up.

Visors down.....sta-bill in the tank...disconnect battery positive.....de-con in the garage...all over...car cover...Buffalo NY area storage...

Stabilizer in a full tank, dryer sheets all over in side, paper plates with moth balls in the floor and mouse traps all over the building. Mine is in a old not so tight building south of Kc. I caught 13 mice in the building last year with no harm to my car.
