Hello fellow MOPAR fan’s first post please go easy on me lol I have a 1967 383 big block 4 barrel factory AC power steering power brake column shift Charger rebuilt rear, transmission and engine before I put the engine and trans back in I was thinking of upgrading my electrical system. I’m a wee bit intimidated but not scared to upgrade the system. My question to my fellow Mopar aficionados is what’s the best kit out there for this upgrade. I see systems from 200 to 1000 just wanna get some input from others before I commit to buying a system I may regret for not asking simple questions.

Welcome from Michigan, the Motor City! 440'

Welcome aboard.

I used a complete Ron Francis kit for my charger. The only thing I didn’t rewire was the steering column! The kit was pricey too but had everything I needed. Other kits are good too. I’m sure more will chime in with what they used.

Most new wiring kits say to use the new schematic only, but the old one helps out a ton too.

Good luck and take your time! Get a plan for each time you get down to work on it. Makes it much better. Trying to do too much at a time can get crazy and sloppy! When I did mine, I worked on it every Monday and Tuesday’s (mostly Mondays) then rest of the week I would prepare for the following
Monday’s / Tuesdays. Worked out well. One could go a little more frequently, but my schedule at the time wasn’t good so was about all I could squeeze in. Take plenty of pics before you start! Also of each system that you’re about to work on. It helps!

This is what it looked like after night 1!

The M&H harness from Year One is good.
Warning their web site is crappy hard to find what you are looking for.
But:
You might consider getting one with provisions for electronic ignition and a 70's style 2 wire electronic voltage regulator.
It depends on how "stock" you are trying to keep it.
They do offer them but it takes some research to find the correct one.
I think the forward lighting harness is a separate piece.
3 sets of plugs on the bulkhead:
1. Engine
2. Lighting
3. Wipe motor

Welcome from Missouri!!

Sorry didn't notice it was a welcome wagon entry.

Huge Welcome from the Pacific Northwest . Sounds like you have a very nice piece of history and you are looking forward to seeing the results of your hard work.

Wiring is one of my learning tools and has always been challenging for me. My Charger has been a very good place to dive in and learn as I go. For myself the harness total replacement just didn’t seem like it was necessary. I have worked on the whole system at various times and solved most issues. Patients and more patients and lots of laughter. My car is not going for the stock look and I knew that when I got the car and that’s part of the reasons I didn’t do a complete harness because it still involves figuring out any issues and then something isn’t working properly or another problem pops up that wasn’t there before. Just my opinion and experience and that’s all.

:welcome: aboard. This is the "welcome wagon" forum. We like pictures :xscuseless:and we have other forums for questions on specific items. Better answers there. I know you are new so not to worry.

Welcome from Alabama, I think in the long run it will end up less expensive to go back with stock, unless wiring is your long suit. Expensive yes, but plug and play if you order the correct harnesses.

I realize this is from 21 but I’m looking for a complete harness 67 charger 440 auto non air. Called year one they said they did not have one. Any suggestions? Would really like a”plug and play” not hunt grunt and be pissed off!!!

National Moparts and other people also sell M&H harnesses.
