Would any U Bolt for a MOPAR 8.25 work for a 71 8.25?

Hi all. I am of the thought that as long as its the same depth and width that it wont matter if the bolts are for a XJ 8.25 or a 71 B body 8.25 axle. Am I right or they different somehow? I ask because I am seeing Jeep ones that are cheaper than the ones said to be specific for 71 b body rear.

Are you talking about the U bolt that holds the axle housing in? As long as the span and diameter are correct, any will work. Our local auto parts stocks many different sizes of generic U-bolts.

The ones holding the axle tube to the shock plates/rear springs.

It totally depends on how thick the leaf spring pack is and the length of the U bolts.
The 8.25 axle uses 3" axle tubes, same size as the 8.75. If the bolts are the same length, all is well.
