Would sea level drop if we.....

I've wondered why we don't desalinize water for use in areas that don't get enough rain water. If the green crowd is legitimately concerned with rising sea waters, wouldn't this negate some of the rise in the sea?

Israel has several desalinization plants, delivering over 600 billion cubic yards of fresh water each year. It is doable.

I am aware of that. My point was the offset of ocean level rise. (If there is any)

The hurricane season is not getting worse because of global warming/climate change BS either. It's getting worse and has been for nearly 20 years because of increased sunspot activity. Mariners HAVE to monitor that activity every day because it effects their radio communications.

When I was young I went in the ocean more than a few times, now, I don't care to be in it, look at it, or live anywhere near it. It belong to the fish, not me!! LOL

I know what's in the ocean and respect its domain. I stay out of the ocean.

The rule around these parts in Georgia is any body of water (ditches, creeks, swamps, rivers, etc.) have gators, snapping turtles, venomous snake, and the like. I stay out of the water. Lol
I used to surf Galveston's 'great' waves in the late 60's and into early 71 and got tired of being 'taste tested' while sitting on my board waiting on one of the 'great' waves by who knows what and figured one day there was going to be something much bigger come up and take a bite. Only been in the water a few times since then and hated it more each time. Yup....not my world for sure!

Desalination plants take a lot of electricity to run, hence costs for running the plants are astronomical, which is why only a few exist as viable options. Many countries that could benefit from them cannot afford to run them.

Electrolysis.

Dredging ports would help somewhat, but would barely make a dent in the oceans levels.

Yep it’s getting deeper all the time. But it’s the BS not the ocean. LOL

Exactly, people in the marine industry KNOW sea levels aren't rising because if they were, NYC, etc. would have to build locks to keep the water back - that's not happening. Florida would be under water in no time since it's barely above sea level as it is.

The real problem is the excessive number of obese people weighing down the tectonic plates...:D:eek::rolleyes:
