Wow, car insurance. I am furious!

Yes if your not getting full coverage then you want uninsured motorist for both property and injury. It is cheap. I learned the hard way.

Trust me, the first uninsured asshole that causes me any issues, will pay back 10x what he cost me if not more. I'll stop here. Assume what you will.

By the photo of your avitar, "I think thats what its called", I am sure you will!...:eusa_shifty:

I actually have full coverage on my Jeep. it's a 2014 I bought for my wife. SO I have to carry full on it. And I still see that uninsured charge. I dunno..

I'm insured with American collectors insurance out of Cherry Hill New Jersey maybe you should give them a call

Me too, 38,000 coverage is 243.00/year I think but I am limited to 3000 miles/yr

here In Colorado, we have to show proof of insurance to get current registration and plates. so, at the very least, I have to get insurance for one month so I can get an insurance card to take with me, along with the title , to register and plate the car. the flip side of it all is we have no emissions or inspections what-so-ever. I hate rules too, but the last thing I need is a cop behind me , running my bullshit fake sticker , and then impounding my car. then I will have to get plates and insurance to get it out...... counterproductive, and I will have a court date for falsifying plates

Given you stop for them....

OK, so if you total my six pack and put me in the hospital for the tune of, oh, $50k medical bills you don't care?

My mopar brothers yes I do care... and that's what uninsured motorists policy is for

I would feel real bad about totaling a 6 pack car that couldn't get out of the way of my 318 barreling down the road with the cops on my tail.... and other carnage over an expired tag... after a few times the cops don't pull you over anymore... lol

I've had Hagerty's for years and have no complaints. Full coverage, everything, at $359 a year on a $42K evaluation of my '70 Super Bee.

WOW that's Grate !! friends have told me that Hagerty is the way to Go...

First off, do not pay any attention to what Sleepar says. He is "FOOKING" out of his mind!!!! I know for a fact that he cannot get his licensing requirements done in FL as I, having lived there and registered my vehicles, know differently. This kind of Insurance nonsense, really gets my Goat. One cannot insure certain types of older vehicles with certain carriers because there isn't a way to accurately rate those vehicles. They are "Too Old" and therefore are out of their tables when underwriting said vehicles. Hence...You have the specialty carriers such as Hagerty, American Collectors, etc. that fill that void. Albeit with certain exceptions. One being you cannot use the vehicle other than for certain uses. i.e. Cruise Nights, Parades, occasional drives, and limited mileage driven. This for discounted premiums. I currently insure my every day car...1999 Honda Civic DX with Mercury Insurance. I carry High Liabilty, Property Damage, Medical Payments, UIM/UM or Under Insured Motorist/Un-Insured Motorist coverage, and Comprehensive. No Collision because I own the car and the Comp is for Glass and other naturally occurring perils such as theft, etc. My '66 Ply Sat is insured with American Collectors for a Stated Value of 15K. It has to be garaged and I can pretty much drive it when ever I want. Premiums for the Honda are 298.00 per six months and American Collectors for 89.00 per year. I just don't get how you all are paying such exorbitant premiums???? And by the way...I live in CA where it costs an arm and a leg to even buy Insurance in this State. Let alone operate any vehicle. My suggestion is to stay away from the "Direct Line Company's"...All State, State Farm, Farmers, etc. and get with an Independent Agent/Broker. They will always have the better deal and more Company's at their disposal. Shop, Shop, and then Shop some more.

Finally...I was in the Insurance Business for quite a number of years in my early working days as an Independent Agent/Broker. Actually trained by Safeco which is an OK company but really quite pricey. I do know the intricacies of how Insurance works. Believe me most do not even have a basic understanding of how it works. Yet they continually will talk out of their "Bung Holes" because this friend or that person said this and that. BS!!!! You need to actively engage in the purchasing experience. Ask questions of the firm you are dealing with. Review "ANNUALLY" your coverages to make sure you are getting the best deal and the right coverages. I am always available for a consult if any here needs some unbiased help in doing that. Never though "ASSUME" anything when it comes to the Insurance angle...cr8crshr/Tuck

All I did was change agents and my auto policy went down a significant amount!

Snake...I don't know what's with this guy? He seems at times to be genuine and than at times he is way out there in left field. I am kinda concerned too as he is a Vet and might need some help. Do you get that impression as well???? Cr8crshr/Tuck

at times it seems like he is either on meds or off ,its a shame , had a friend that at times was as sharp as a tack and them was a babbling idiot ,why because of meds. hope he gets it together

I just fired Farmers here in Texas after 20 years. Their rates have been going up every year to offset the storm losses in the homeowners side of their business and when I had my first claim in 15 years they raised my rates again.

Buyer beware ...

I save a ton of money going with Germania. ;)

I tired them but they said I wasn't German enough for the Germania club.

and that's what uninsured motorists policy is for

This the the exact same as lying on your arse and saying "this is what other people pay taxes for" i.e. you are a leech on the system.

I checked several companies out and found for me that Grundy was the most reasonable. I did have to use the policy several years ago when some kids were throwing rocks across the road that I was driving on. Just my luck they nailed my drivers quarter. I was very impressed with Grundy as they took care of me immediately with no questions asked. I assume they then went after the kids parents insurance. My rates actually went down 2 years later.

I got an online quote from Hagerty but my Allstate agent got a better deal for me with Hagerty. I don't speak the language, I guess. Anyway, I have full coverage on my 2011 F150 and agreed value $40,000 on my 69 Coronet R/T as well as homeowner's policy with them.

If I'm not mistaken, Hagerty has no mileage limit.

So you think I should pay for Uninsured Motorist coverage just because you don't want to buy your own insurance? How about I buy your 318 for you too! If you have no insurance they subrogate against you, basically sue your *** for the money. You don't care if you lose your car, your house, your life savings, your retirement, etc. and you and your family are living in a tent? Grow up, man!

Why not drop them? Get a new company for your primary vehicles, and use Grundy or Haggerty for your classic.
I use Grundy. $450 for $60,000 agreed upon value, $0 deductible, full coverage, with towing reimbursement up to $240/tow.
I shopped around, and I'm happy with the price I'm paying and coverage of my plan.
I haven't had any claims, but haven't heard bad things about Grundy in that department.
Haggerty has a stellar reputation, so you probably can't go wrong there.

thanks, I called late Friday, waiting on a quote from Haggerty, or if they will take me? An agent is supposed to call me. I have a clean driving record. But they said I only have one daily driver car, with two drivers in the house, so they had to let the agent decide. I work from home. My wife uses my DD for work. My Plymouth won't be used daily, so she put notation in for the agent to see.... I dunno.
Hopefully the agent calls today, and I have some luck.
