Went to do my taxes today and was told I had to fill out this new form. This company has been doing my taxes for 30 years.
They didn’t like what I wrote in the space for other.

I give my name, and that is it. No titles, no middle name, no nothing. Now the US Feds, or Hawaii, decided I needed to fill in the space for a middle name. So they put in, not me, NMN, and I became Enimin, before the rock star twit.
This was always exciting in the traffic fine paying department, with a Japanese Hawaiian clerk, trying to pronounce my name. Had the whole mob of convicts in stitches before we were done. Made Ed Rino, from Reno driving a Torino seem mild in comparison.
I do not have a middle name. Canada decided it was None. It took a while to fix that.

We get forms like that with race .... Pakeha is the word they use now for white European people - translated means white pig.... which is racist.
So I put 'Other' on forms now, and with the meaning - "White European New Zealander"

In a couple of Census forms, I have entered my religion as "Jedi" (which was outlawed after that - given that about 10,000 others did it) and also Callithumpian for one.

F*** 'em.

I would find a new accountant. And tell him why. By continuing to use him you are condoning this by him. Call him out on it and walk away. People understand when their poor choices have consequences.

@Unkle Krusty I worked as a clerk in an office and one guy's timecard said NMN. I had to ask! Then when I was doing the family history my grandfather's birth info came back Freddy L ..... My father said "But my father didn't have a middle name"! I also don't know when they started using Frederick!

Interesting. A form from the Tax service and not an IRS form (which may be the same) I don't understand why they would need to know whether you like to be called Mr/he/him. May be it's easier to ask that instead of what gender you choose to go by. That shouldn't matter when you are paying your taxes. May be they like to know so they don't tell you some nasty gay jokes when you stop by to get your taxes done.

I think it’s to put your information on file with them. But like I mentioned, this place knows me by name so this crap makes no sense to me. When I came in they said hi Mike, so they know what name I go by. I checked other on the form and it took up most of the form putting all the letters of the alphabet and a couple plus and minus’s and numbers.
