WTH!!!Japan!!!

Japan has been making quality stuff for a long time. I'm generally happy seeing "Made in Japan" on parts vs China or Vietnam. Heck when I'm shopping for my Miata I look for it specifically :p

Think Cins'a bad, wait till you see the junk from India.

I don't see the problem guys - it's an international world... The Toyota Camry is more American than a Dodge Ram... Hell my Toyota Tacoma is built in TX while the Dodge Challenger is built in Canada. The 6.1L Hemi is made in Mexico.

Unfortunately the old timers love to argue "made in America" and "buy american" - but to do that you have to buy a Toyota. The big 3 don't make much here in the USA anymore - I know Ford makes the Mustang in Michigan - but most parts are sourced from Mexico and Canada...

THE WAR IS OVER GUYS........its been 67 years since WW2 has ended, and people still think japan is out to get you. THEYRE NOT OUT TO GET YOU.

Japan has built some of the best stuff the world has seen INCLUDING the mitsubishi ZERO...yes the ZERO....and other formitable aircraft. Toyota and Honda are some of the best machines out there.... so build a bridge...AND GET OVER IT!.

the japanese people are tedious meticulous people and they do things right. they are too proud to export JUNK.....they waste NOTHING....

beware of china , india, indonesia...korea and viet nam if you wanna worry about junky stuff.....because these people have no morals unlike the japanese.

beware of Harley Davidson too...some of the BIGGEST pieces of **** to ever hit the road. my good friend is motorcycle mechanic , and when i go over there....his shop is FILLED with Harleys......he says..." ...if it werent for these garbage bikes,,,,id be out of business "

You forgot Mexico!

Guess only us west coasters think about it since we are overrun here. But many a product is made in Mexico by American company's and the quality is as 3rd world as it gets.

Speaking of WW2 the Japs made a pack with the Germans for materials and technology that is the only way they survived long it enough in the war, besides that before the war they had purchased several patents from USA company's on engines and other mechanics etc. and was buying just about as much scrap metal as they could before they struck Pearl Harbor.

Hell there were several reports of Jap shrapnel with the Chevy bow-tie on it found through out the early years o the war. Bottom line is they had nothing without the rest of the world to give it to them back then.

youre right.....i did forget Mexico....add MEXICO to my list up there! thanx Big man.

there were rumors that Japans Zero and Howard Hughes racing plane were so similar in design that Howard Hughes was accused of treason by supposedly selling the design to japan .. but being that form follows function thats pretty hard to swallow!

I understand the plea about keeping the jobs here and the money here, but if you think about it, it takes more personnel to distribute, advertise, and sell the items here in America, than what it does in the manufacturing process. It would be better if we could have it all, but why be so greedy. We still rule the world!!!

Japan not only makes great cars, and trucks... but their motorcycle too kick ***. I got amid their **** is not bad either. JAjajajajjaa

I just purchased a new Hurst 6 speed shifter for my Challenger, guess where it was made? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't USA or Japan.......

Screw Products from CHINA

Warning Childrens Toys from CHINA Contain LEAD in the Paint....Warning Drywall From CHINA will make you SICK....Warning Milk sold to Thailand from CHINA makes Children SICK....Warning Stainless Steel Products made in CHINA Rust....I would not buy Toilet Paper from CHINA I would get to many get Splinters up my:bootyshake: ***:icon_fU: Rick :ky:

Why? Most every thing else you bought is from China. Japan is usually high quality now a days.

Look at the japanese cars; they are virtually troublefree. I wouldn't trade my Mazda with a Saturn or a Chrysler Voyager, which would need a new transmission every 50.000 miles.
And not to talk about those Stealth-heads..weren't they manufactured in China. Talking about junk...

Recently installed a front disc brakes purchased from in line tube.
All parts fit well but when installing the final part ( the dust cover )
in very small print ---- made in china. The brakes work very good
but left a bad taste. I wonder how long before they rust???

I tend to agree. I was a Toyota mechanic in a local dealership here for a number of years. Torn down lots of their engines. Forged crank and rods they all had. They use good stuff. One of the boys had a skanked up 22R in an old 70s Celica with a Toyota truck 5 speed behind it. It had spray on it, but on motor was probably 250 plus HP. It was not slow. I can remember bein in the car with him when the tach bounced off the limiter at 8K and it idled like a pissed off herd of bumble bees. Toyota has had the Americans beat for a long time with cars. While we were producing cars with plastic interiors that fell apart in 20K miles, Toyota was building vehicles that lasted 300K with regular maintainence. Only recently have the domestic automakers turned the corner towards better quality. At least, better than they used to be.

Funny thing is:
When I built my 440 based Max Wedge style engine i had a brand new MOPAR water pump "out of the box" and it leaked. My replacement Japan one did not.

hate to say it, but if you file that 'Japan' off, you'd be a fraud. Just return it and get an OEM piece rebuilt and be done with it.

That's because they already got us! Pretty nice recovery after two A bombs.

I can remember in the early 70's listening to my dad and his buddies talk crap about "those cheap Japanese nails" while doing a remodel in his SF house. Now we are happy to see something made in Japan. The early toys and cars were crap too, but they got it together.

Both sides of my family (white Russian) are from Manchuria and lived under the Japanese occupation, so any displeasure towards the Japanese people belongs to them. But I have no stake in that game since I was born in the US and didn't have rats infected with typhoid dropped on the city where I was born.

My mother had also told me that while the Japanese can be very ruthless they are also very clean and organized as compared to the Chinese. My grandmother said the Koreans are just plain angry. Maybe she was on to something.

Oh, and I have one of those GNB water pumps that came on my hemi and it said made in Japan. Nothing wrong with it; just doesn't look factory so I didn't use it.

Well when there is no more jobs here in North America ,we wont have the money to buy anything,we will have the sweat shops ,and will be working for $0.60 an hour. The rich people are trying to wipe us out.We wont have enought money to put air in our tires.
