My sons dog died Sunday. Her kidneys have been failing some time now and Saturday he took her to the vet. It was time. She just celebrated her 18th birthday on Friday.
We babysat that dog often and she was a good companion to my wife.
Needless to say my wife was in tears.

18 is a long time for a dog. So far, my longest living PD was almost 13 and that's kinda long but there's some that lives longer in captivity. What seems to hurt more (at least for me) is when they only make it 5 or 6. Lost one to cancer a couple of years ago and she was very loving and it wasn't easy. She was almost 6....

Am so sorry for your lost my friend, we all know the pain and the sorrow of this loss, he have a long and pleasant life in your family, God want his angel back, dont deny a good home to another much needed dog.

You said it. Ours has made a full recovery and all fur is finally grown back in. Here she is Patiently waiting to grab her presents and the rest is history... She opened 3 more but the first one made her very happy!!
