still waiting for the diff to be narrowed and the heads to come back from the machine shop.
I will need to mini tub the car and possibley move the springs into the frams as the diff is 51.5 axle to axle.

your input is as always greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't use a good aluminum head on something that had less than 600 lift. I mean.....that's one of the MAIN reasons for going aluminum. Because iron heads have their limitations. Iron heads CAN be made to flow big numbers with a big cam, but it takes a LOT of work. If you've already gone to aluminum, you've completely removed that limitation.

scrap the comp cams and get a lunati IMHO and rust i think the stealth heads recommend around .560 lift

That's cause they come with crap springs. They can take a lot more.

yeh i changed the springs in mine also definetly a must

Air flows of a 906 head and the Stealth.

Lift.............stock 906.............OOTB Stealth

.100............66 cfm..................73 cfm..........+7 cfm
.200...........130......................151..............+21 cfm
.300...........189......................214..............+25 cfm
.400...........222......................245..............+23 cfm
.500...........234......................263..............+29 cfm
.600...........237......................276..............+39 cfm

At .560" lift, relative to a stock iron head, it doesn't appear to be a waste. It would seem to be a wise choice.

I very much like the Torker II manifold and I think the entire combination will boogie!

With a valve job and a mild clean up you would have,

.100........75 cfm
.200.......150
.300.......211
.400.......254
.500.......285
.600.......295

There is probably 50 cams that'll work well with that head and the 305 H is one of 'em. And if you are running with headers, the 305 becomes a better choice, as it is a single pattern cam and the Stealth heads have a very efficient exhaust when prepped correctly!

Nothing wrong with the springs on the Stealth heads, but toss the crap retainers and locks.

the cam was chosen after having the heads flowed, they worked real well around 490 lift and with the 1.6 ratio rocker that does bump the lift up to I believe around .540 or .550( I may be off on that figure) the reason for the Aluminum heads was cost and weight, to get a set of iron heads to flow the numbers i got from the stealths, as wells as the parts that the 440 source heads come with i would have been well past the initial cost. the other benefit is that I can run more comp with the poor fuel we have avail. this is a street car( kinda) and I cant always get the good stuff. besides I do plan another short block in the future and these heads will fit the bill nicely thank you for your input though..

The MAN has spoken. Yall gotta crowbar to get my foot outta my mouth? Again.

What are all the specs on that cam as I know its not .252 lift ? What is the right lift and and duration at .050 and the LSA ? As far as the rest of the combo its not to far from my old 440 combo. I had a 10.0 comp .030 over 440 with 906 heads I ported and Isky ductile iron rockers. I had the MP .557 cam and use the Holley Street Dominator intake with an 850 DP. Had the 1-3/4 headers with 3" exh. In my 3700 lb 63 with 4.30's and a Dynamic 9.5 verter it ran 11.49 @ 116 best. Was a nice driving combo as it was pump gas and I raced thru the pipes. I think you have a nice combo if that is a good cam for it as I dont know the specs on that cam. Ron

the car has 1 3/4 to 3 headers and a to be decided exhaust, thinking about 3" bullet mufflers and a turn down at the axle w/ a x pipe.
